Hi folks.

I am Philipp from germany, i currently modding my 1272 to get a lower noise during operating. After i have identified the power supply as the loudest device in the projector, i removed it. I will mod it later to get really silent.

Now i took two test runs. The projector displayed a whitescreen. The electronics in the projector are staying really cool, seems not to be a problem. But the green and the blue tube seem to produce a large amount of heat on the surface. I measured about 50°C at the plastic mount (see image) of the blue tube.

Is this really a problem? And if it is a problem, what is a good temperature for a 07MP tube? How do projectors of other brands cool thier tubes?

regards
Philipp

Temp spec for Panasonic 9" tube (I don't have info for 07MP). 100 degrees max in center of face. Max difference is 20 degrees in other areas. Too much difference can cause tube to break.

Hi Scott.

Many thanks for the info.

So i think that 50°C is normal temperature for a tube that is driven at its maximum (whitescreen).

regards,
Philipp
