Can one of you guy's who have a picture of the U35 chip in a 9500LC post up a photo to view?

I'm trying to locate it to clean the contacts and hopefully eliminate some raster noise.

Much thanks

Upper left hand side of the pix. The chip is an 8 pin and has been removed in that photo.

He means U35 on the CLM not the Vim. Just get an IC puller and remove all chips and Clean the all using DeOxit from radio Shack and a soft tooth brush.
Also get some denatured alcohol and clean the whole board using it and the brush.
After a PJ has been sitting not used for years that little bit of oxidation can cause that noise. Its most likely not U35 but U7 on the DPB and the pins fort hat board.
let me find some pics or a post i did on avs and re post it here.

Yes, took some stairing but I got it! That board is on the right side (CRT in floor position) and I've had that board in my hand twice tonight already Smile

Jee whiz I feel like I must be going blind. I was just expecting a large IC like U16, you can trick your eyes into seeing what's not there and not seeing what is.

No that is the VIM, it has the red green and blue mini RCA's. those chips are soldered on and are not the problem. you need the left board when floor mounted, it has no wires on it and has two sub board raised above it. One is the Deflection Processor board with Chip U7 i told you to look at, the other board is the SWB Stig wave form board.
Under those boards is U35 that you are looking for. they have to be unscrewed .

let me find that post.....

Here is a link to parts and boards of the Marquee. Reseating of the Focus board and HDM is just pulling it out and putting in in a few times to clean the contacts, you dont have to remove any connections to do this. Just pull up and put back in a few times. http://www.curtpalme.com/ElectrohomeMarquee_Layout1.shtm

Location of FCM and HDM.

on the hdm their is a daughter board that also need to be removed and reconected.

HDM Pic

Next on the CLM there are some chips that can be taken out from their
sockets, do one at a time. you will need a IC puller from radio shack to do this.

Location of CLM:

CLM out of Set showing chips.

chip puller pic:

Clean all chips with some contact cleaner or Denatured Alcohol.

I use DeOxit:

Do one chip at a time and remember how it came out so you put it back in the same way.
