Ok, so the wife and I watched this free Blu-ray movie last night and we were surprised to see Minnie Driver in it, but even more surprised that her character sang in this musical. Not so much as her character's singing requirements as we wondered if this was a voice-over or for real.
And its a little difficult taking this movie after having seen it at the Fox Theater years ago. Seeing Gerard Butler signing as the Phantom was also disturbing as I only see him in one role (King Leonidas; 300). While this movie bored me to death, I was pleasantly surprised as how good it looked.

She was actually a singer who got diverted by acting, not an actor who decided to give singing a try.
