Hi

Thanks to everyone who helped me with my last post about banding. Following your leads I've been able to get rid of the annoying "line" halfway down the screen. I followed the instructions using the green convergence and noticed that I dont seem to be able to get the top section of the green grid to come properly into focus. I've tried adjusting the allen head bolts as per the mechanical set up instructions which has seen some improvement but I've still got the lines at the top part of the grid appearing thicker and blurrier than the rest of the grid. Please can anyone help? The picture when watching TV is a marked improvement but does this imbalance in the convergence grid matter?

As ever, all help appreciated.

When doing the Schliemflug adjustments with the allen bolts can you get it to defocus the bottom and get the top into focus or is it alway the top out of focus no matter what. You should be able to get one in focus and then the other out, keep working at it and you'll figure out how the system works. If it is still out of focus try swaping the green tubes focus coil to the reds and see if its still there if so then its your mechanical adjust ments and keep working on it, if it goes into focus it could be a bad Focus board or the CLM(control Module) or VDM(Vertical deflection module), as those two send focus waveforms to the FCM(focus Board). But
most likely its the mechanical adjustment, you can test this also by getting a pice of whit paper and putting it up to the screen where your grid is out of focus, then bring it closer to the PJ and you'll see a point where it comes into focus if it does then you know you need to do more work to get it right.
