Long time lurker here. I happened to be in Dallas this weekend, and happened to look at craigslist, and there happened to be a NEC XG-75 for sale, posted about 30 minutes before I looked. I picked it up for $250. I was pleased when I got there, as it already had a Moome DVI/component card in it. I looked at the tubes, and there is some wear, but looks to be very even 16x9 wear. I wont get to really look this thing over until I get back home (Sunday), but I am hoping everything works out. Worst case, if it does not work, I can part it out for what I paid for it. Also got some very nice BNC and DVI cables.

I will probably use this at 1080i. Would it even be possible to try 1080p? I had heard a rumor that the bandwidth of all these XG's are the same, regardless of their designation. Any truth to that? Thanks.

You paid going rate for one of them in the condition you describe. If you're happy, thats' great.

Try 1080p and decide for yourself, don't let what others *tell* you is right make your decisions for you, they're not watching your setup...

Great score! I would first just use 1080i it will look great... Unless your using a scaler or HTPC the 1080p sync timings are not correct out of a standalone box or PS3 for an XG.

1080i will look stunning. Be real careful with going above 1080i or 720p with a gen 1 moome card...They get really flakey at higher scan rates.

Thanks. I have been using a CRT RPTV at 1080i, so I am pretty used to that. I'll hook up a PS3 to it, and probably nothing else until I get a receiver that can switch & scale multiple HDMI inputs.
