Locks us on a regular basis. It stops responding to both the remote and the selector on the unit. I need to power the unit down to get it working again.
Any thoughts?

I don't have any idea what you mean by this. Is there some way to know if this was done or not ? I wasn't aware that there was some after purchase thing that needed to be done so they would function as designed.

I assume we are all talking about the same unit - the Ext-HD? That problem has been around since we first got these. I sent mine off to Barry and got the initial fix done (what - for the ringing problem?).
Then because I had to power off all the time and was pulling the plug that went bad - so my unit went back to Moome and it came back repaired with a new power socket from him.
But the fundamental problem with remote control and switch has always remained. I just power off my receiver and power back on any time I want to switch inputs (my Moome Ext-HD is powered off the receiver's switched output).
Then the remote will work to switch inputs for a short while. There are times when the unit has been on a long time and it will also switch inputs - but the more common situation is the need to power down and back up.
Don't keep pulling the power connector and putting it back in or you will end up like me and need to replace the connector.

Good to know this issue is ongoing and un-repaired.

Fortunately it is pretty easy to work around. I've just plugged my EXT-HD into the switched outlet on my receiver. So it's powered off most of the time and gets a fresh power-on every time I go into the HT to watch something. I've never had a problem with the lockup since doing this.
