308-channel IOSONO sound system

As part of the multi-million dollar renovation of the Museum of Tolerance / Simon Wiesenthal Center in Los Angeles, a 308-channel IOSONO sound system was installed in the Peltz Theater.

Well I don't think there's a "channel limit" per se, but there is probably a reasonable limit of how close sounds can be together before you can't differentiate between them anymore.

The real question is, is there any master in the world with 308 discreet channels? Not likely Rolling Eyes

I'm guessing they don't play 308 discrete channels of different information. It says the whole idea is to produce identical sound at each seat. They probably take a standard 7.1 signal and process it into 308 channels to distribute it throughout the theater.

To produce identical sound in each seat seems to suggest that waste sound from adjacent seats would impact the seat you are in.

Yup. I'm not sure how effectively they can do it, but that's their claim.
