Hi,

I might be able to get a Barcovision 708 MM for a good price. I just wanted to know if this kind of unit is anygood to use with a HTPC at 1920*1080i?
It looks like the horizontal resolution is not great (Horizontal: 15-50 kHz / Vertical: 37-210 Hz / Bandwidth 45Mhz).
If the tubes are not too old (still need to get the runtime from the seller) is this unit going to produce a better picture than my Barco data 800 with a worn blue tube and two dark spots in the middle of the green tube?

Thanks

Damien

The vision is a lesser projector than the data 800, not likely to a good move for you.

Edit: I stand corrected, I thought the Vision 708 was like the older analog machines. Rolling Eyes

A good 708 will outperform the 800.

Especially if the 708 is in good shape. Off course price has to be low Smile

Totally agree with this, the 800 is ANCIENT, any newer 708 WITH GOOD TUBES will look quite a bit better...
