Hi @ all.

I got a problem with my Seleco.
It was running and then suddely it turned off.
Now it isnt running any more. When i turn it on the three LEDs flash only for a fragment of a second and is not running. Could it be that it is the power supply.
Please help me.

Firefix.

Sounds more like its going into shutdown. Are you familiar with the internals of the projector and do you have any electronic knowledge?

You should take lenses off and open top cover of powersupply (thats one is under lenses, big wide metal box) take cover off and you should see green leds for every voltage. If some of those doesent lit, then there is something wrog. Btw there seems be more seleco knowledge at -> http://www.avforums.com/forums/crt-projectors/
It has be long time when i serviced Seleco, so i dont remember much...

Edit: i found picture from seleco500 powersupply, on left hand there are those leds..

hi,

thanks for your replys already and yes, i am familiar with the internals of the projector and i do have electronic knowledge.

i already found the power supply and when i switch the main switch on, the +200V, -200V, and the +40V Leds light up and then dimm off again. the two red Leds at the back of the projector flash and the left one flashes once mor and then nothing happens.

I hope that someone can help me with he schematics of the projector or any ideas what the fault could be.

Thanks.

Firefix

Check with MadMrH in the UK (where are you located at, put it in your profile please!).

He has had and sold any number of these sets. If you're in the US, unfortunately good luck. I've had one of those sets here, and the power supply was smoked. It was a poorly constructed set (sorry, no offense), and I scrapped it rather than trying to repair it. Service info and spare parts are almost nonexistent in North America, and you'd be better off getting another set. The Seleco is about the same as an ECP, and there's piles of those around here.

If you're in Europe, then MadMrH is your best bet.

Cheers!
Curt

Curt, is that the one I sent you a few years back that looked like someone stuck a hot welding rod through the middle of the power supply.

Thank you for your offer, Graham. Unfortunately, I am quite far from you. I think the shipping cost would be too high between Australia and Hungary. When I will know what parts are necessary for my Seleco I am going to contact you.
All the best,
Andras

Darned if I know. I've seen two like that, so it's apparently not an uncommon issue...

Yeah, I should not have acquired this projector. I wanted to change my old Barco 600, which is fully analog projector to a newer model. It was a bad move.
