Are these parts of any value to us owners of front projectors?

parts for Mitsubishi big screen TVs models: VS-45605 VS-50605 VS-55705 VS-60705 VS-70705 including mirrors , projectors , screens , circuit boards. parts fit all Mitsubishi 45"50"55"60"and 70" big screens about 5 to 7 years old. some parts are getting rare to find like the amplifier chips, several lenticular screens.

I wonder if one of the screens will fit my Marquee retro case 4:3 aspect? I might be intrested. Its a 67 inch diagnol. I guess i could cut down the 70" screen.

But I suspect getting it from San Diego to NY might be more hassle & expense than it's worth...

For a couple of years Mit made 4x3 and 16x9 HDreadys, then went to strictly the WS widescreen HD ratio. However, the first HDready 4x3 I saw was the VS 60803. The HDreadys had the 8 in there as the middle number, and those listed here do not.

These might very well be the HDready models, in VS form, but without the 8 in there, I think not. If it says "1080" on the front of the set, it will be HDready.

The 5 number model numbers were all equipped with the excellent wide dispersion high gain HD grade screens, whether HDready or not. Using them in a rear pj'd capacity with a Marquee would be the best gathering of the light potential, far better and brighter than just a typical frosted rear pj screen.

Yes! See my last post.

Athanasios, be sure to have the light path direction accurate for your rear pj'd app, after it's left your pj.

I just worked on a Runco DTV 1000 down in OC, and they had the 2 mirror sys, with the program material firing straight out to the audience from an elevated screen, somewhat higher than the chairs, typical of any movie theater approach. As such the sweet spot sailed right over the heads of the viewers, leaving the top of the screen dimmer than the rest of it when seated properly, eyes below screen.

The final mirror needs to be raised by 2 feet and re-aimed downward, and the scheimpflug possibly realigned, for the sweet spot to be hitting the viewers correctly, and making the screen have the same brightness all over. And of course a complete redo of the focusing, geometry and convergence.

Owners of bars using CRT RPTVs do this all the time, and I am always pointing out to them that they need to tilt down the angle of the screen - of the whole set in that case, just put a 2x4 under the rear of the set, they are bottom heavy and won't fall over with just that - to remedy this situation.

Remember, in a real movie theater the projector is aimed DOWN at the screen, making the material bounce off at just the right angle to keep the sweet spot hitting the audience. On CRT projection, that needs to be done as well, if you want the maximum amount of light level hitting the audience.

Ideally my owner in OC should have the screen angled down too, but since it's parallel with the wall in there, I doubt he'll want to go that far...
