You know what Gary, all that matters is if it does what YOU want. That, you will discover when you fire it up. Look at the bandwidth of the 4600HD (105). It does 1080P 60 just fine without cracking a sweat. I can punch up test patterns that show it's at the limit of what it will do but who cares. This is home theater and 1080P movies is all I'm ever going to be interested in. Whoever sits up at night and watches test patterns on their projector is just sick.

exactly Chip
even better, I only do 1920x800p in 2.40:1 squeeze size, should be pretty easy on a capable 9" unit, the NEC 1352 was rockin with that

Gary are you keeping your modest size screen? If so that baby should be bright too!

I'm using a 4' x 8' PP screen, got it for almost nothing. Looks pretty good, stepping up to Wilsonart soon.

yep, same 83" wide 2.40:1, I love my smaller screens in small HT rooms (mine is 12'x12')

I love cheap screens and DIY type stuff, but when you move to something better you really gain some PQ improvements, I have to talk myself out of making everything and finally decided enough and started buying screens, then I can move to making DIY stuff like masking systems that use electronic curtain movers and traverse rods, saved literally 600+ bucks on that setup in my HT
I should show it to you guys sometime, it worked out so nice, can go between 1.85:1 and 2.40:1 with the push of a button on my remote

I guess the scan rate was kept down to reduce heat and noise. Just like the Cine 9.

for those wondering, master of the Barco Greg Eisemann informed me that the Runco 1100 is a Data, the Runco 1101 is a Graphics, yippee!

finally got my Runco 1101 this morning
I can finally admit now that I bought this unit sight unseen and that I didn't get pics of the tubes, however I scored and can now brag
the 1101 has P19LPB tubes installed, the green has wear that is so slight it is hard to pick up and the good news is that it is 4x3 and nears touches the edge of the tube, this is advantage to buying a PJ from a prior HT app vs other tube abusers
blue and red are both 10s
lenses are perfect and have no labels but are all metal, there are 2 slash/hash marks cut in front ring exactly in the middle across from each other
more soon

Sounds exactly like my 1100. I was told the lenses are HFQ-900

upon closer inspection it seems the green tube has some burn of some kind at the very top of the tube, maybe a ESPN ticker or something, of course it will be outside my 2.40:1 raster, probably even outside 16:9

Mine has a similar line at the top/bottom of a 4:3 mark on the green, has no affect on the 16:9 image.

Did you get the factory mount with it?

I think I did get the mount
thanks Athan, I may want to do that, the green wear is so faint that it would be a shame but I will have to decide before I mount this thing if I want to proceed to perfection
I am so rusty on the Barco, when I power this thing up with no signal attached I get the Barco startup display with info I can start to go thru the menu then all of a sudden the image sucks in and is gone, probably a bad board
oh the joys of CRT, I will have to dig way back into my forgotten Barco knowledge

HFQ900's are not all metal as Gary described.
