Used/B-stock VP-50 is best solution from DVDO that has nessescerily functions for us with crt-projectors. Sadly no 11-point gamma that lumagen has.. But still good value for money. |
The VP-50 costs more than the rest of my projector put together
I'll pass on this Jarmo but thanks anyway for reminding me how poor I am and for trying to lure me into buying something that would give the wife an excuse to cut my goolies off with a blunt saw and feed them to the cat!
Good value for money!!?? Come on, admit it you're rich aren't you!

Ok, I got the new boards in my PJ and did some testing. At first i have this HDCP issue that was not on the older boards in the exact same set up I am using now.
here is how my system is set up, LG BH200 to a MUX-HD, bot outputs to 2 C2-2250 Video Processors out to the Moome cards. With the MUX in the chain used as a splitter i should not need to have HDCP set to on in the VP's correct? And before it didn't matter if it was on or off as it worked fine either way. with the new cards if i have the HDCP off
in the VP's I get this flashing of video noise as seen in this video, i forgot to mute the sound so you might not hear me clearly.
http://gallery.me.com/nashou.66#100182/DSCF1173&bgcolor=black
But other wise it is a nicer card, the gamma works much better than the last card i had the original single HDMI input card. it might come out of black too soon but i did not adjust the trim pot just by using the remote.
Also after shut down and using the 100 or 0 button for the gamma max or off it does not stay where it was last set.
It might just be an intermittent thing but on one PJ i have to adjust it back to 0 gamma then up it one click to where it should be. seems like its going to 100% on after each power cycle, but i need to be sure after more use.
so here are some screen shots:
And a comparison from the old cards.
Old moome single HDMI card
New Moome card
I know its a lot of pics in one post but I wanted to show some dark scens, colorfull scenes and close up shots.
So I am happy with this card except fort he few issues with my particular set up.
Not sure what changed HDCP wise on this card but it might be something Moome can fix with a firmware update.

the gamma memory will save when push gamma up and down key,
the 100 and 0 just use for fully turn on/off test only.
to save the max gamma or minima gamma value, you can press gamma up/down key many times until IR LED stop blinking. and there are totally two gamma memoris, each input has its memory.

Moome, curious what your expected ship date is for the next batch? I believe I should be in that one. Thanks!

I guess one thi9ng i'm having trouble with is the selectable dynamic range of thecard from 15 to 235 or 0 to 250? When i got the card it was set for 15 -235 and when I changed it to 0/250 for FFTB I noticed the peak white seemed blown-out. I know this requires a Spyder thingy but is there a quick and dirty way to roguh it in using a normal pluge pattern?
Also, was this feature available on the old V1.2 card?

I know with 16-235 I was having trouble getting FFTB even with Brightness turned way down.

Well Dragan I'll tell you I am having that issue too. When I'm not tracking that Herringbone that is. My brightness is at 15 and whites are still pushing into a gray fade. I am set on 16-235. so is the Blu ray player. If I put it on 0-255 it gets much worse blown out gray look.

The way to check this is to set it for 16 to 235, input a full 100ire half window and check the output with a scope, adjust the gain pot on the card until you have a 0.7 volt signal.

It can be done using a plugh pattern. Or even a 6 or more step pattern, but a plugh would be better.
First before going with the pattern, you have to make sure you're in the right color space on the DVD player. If not using a processor of other device in between the Blu Ray and projector, simply set the contrast on the card to adjust the pattern.
but before doing this, you should have your contrast setup right in the projector.
It works very well for me and i don't adjust mine using my scopes.

Is there an PC video-card that can output deep-color (HDMI 1.3)?
