I'm expecting my new card very soon now.

But now that 3D is out, I wonder when we're going to see a new version card that drives an IR emitter and shutter glasses so that we, too,
us primitive CRT enthusiasts, can properly appreciate 3D on our projectors.

Moome, you have a new project!

CRT sure can do 3D, there are some ways to make 3D work, just need find a best way~~

Moome's just announced the new VERSION 3 of his VIM-FULLHD HDMI input card! Available for immediate shipment.

What's new in Version 3?

The new version 3 board adds the following new features:

Marquee switcher support: You can now use the card in a Marquee switch box instead of directly in the projector. Older cards did not work in Marquee switchers. Please refer to the manual for the special DIP switch settings.

DTS-HD / Dolby True HD lossless audio support: Allows you to use an HDMI receiver or pre-amp between your Blu-ray player and projector to decode lossless audio. Previously this did not work correctly due to the HDMI card's EDID. The EDID has now been updated so this will work.

Cleaner video power: A large coil filter has been added to clean up the video power, further reducing image noise.

Manual selection of input color mode: The previous card auto-detected the colour space. While this typically works correctly, some users like to be able to force the colour space mode. This is now possible using 4 new buttons on the remote:

Button 4: Auto Detect Input Colour Space
Button 5: Set Input Color Space at YCbCr 422
Button 6: Set Input Color Space at YCbCr 444
Button 7: Set Input Color Space at RGB 444

Remote control beep confirmation: In the past it was difficult to know if the card is receiving the signals when you press buttons on the remote. The card now 'beeps' every time you press a button to give you positive feedback.

For complete details, see the order page here: http://www.curtpalme.com/VIM-FULLHD.shtm

I just got my new VIM card. It will be installed as soon as I can, as part of my projector overhaul. No reviews for a while yet.

But it is a well made card.

Moome sent you an e-mail about possibly upgrading my card to have forced color space. Did you get it?

I have the version of the card just before the one you just announced.

Moome,
I have an older (I think first generation with component input) marquee card.
My computer reports the monitor as NEC-XG. Is this normal?

Also, interested in your new v.3.
Should it be a big improvement over mine (with marquee 9500LC)?

That is normal. he used the EDID from the NEC in his first versions, I think the latest one do the same.

Thanks for the info.

I am using Nvidia 8600GTS video card in my PC along with moome v 1 card into 9500LC.

The desktop is extending beyond the viewable display area (horizontally). so some of horizontal info is cropped.

I had to use custom timing in Nvidia to fix this.

Now I am using ATI HD5450 and it seems that ATI does not provide custom timing option.

Is this normal with the moome card?

I tried, but it seems that ATI HD 5450 is not supported. (advanced timing option is grayed)

Arr Thats A shame Neutral
because Power Strip basicaly turns your PC into A Virtual Video Processor in A way,
When it comes to multi scan CRT's Custom Timings are A must IMO...

I know this is off topic But have you ever considered A Stand alone VP such As
Lumagen XS/XE or A second hand DVDO VP50 can be picked up for dirt cheap..
They tend to offer superior Deinterlacing/pic quality/features over PCs/Graphics cards
due to proprietary Algorithms and Hardware ...

Cheers...

All I do with my projector is watching Bluray movies and I don't need any extra SD processing.
Used DVDO still seems to be out of my budget.
But I didn't know DVDO can do custom timing.

I will try again with my ATI video card, but I don't have high hopes.

Thanks

Thanks for your purchase IFB-FULLHD/VIM-FULLHD
we will reversion the IFB-FULLHD and need your opinion on TOSLINK
do you think you need TOSLINK on IFB-FULLHD?
we will add 3D glasses interface and remove TOSLINK due to not enough space for board.
let us know your advise

Thanks and regards

Moome, I replied in the wrong thread, but I will repeat myself. I don't use the Toslink on the Marquee board. It just doesn't make sense for me to run audio all the way back to my setup from the projector. I imagine that will be the case for most users.

Will you have an upgrade service for those that have V2 and above, or will the 3D require a whole new board?

I think it should be removed and add the industry standard for 3D glasses.

I'm interested as well, depending on the price point. I'm also looking at a VP, which is said to be ocming out with this as well, so depending on the price and it's ability to do the job, but it would be nice to have the option tp upgrade, rather than getting rid of a card that cost a decent coin. If it can't be done, then it can't be done, but if it can, it may make it worthwhile to those who already have a Moome card. Just my thoughts as a consumer.
