Hi,
I changed the two buffering caps and cleaned the U7 chip and socket and the control module contacts. Now I can't start my PJ any more. Every time I want to power it on, the red lights at the control module make a show like the knight rider car. Can you help me?

I think i have done the things correctly. I took a picture of everything before I replaced the caps and cleaned the chips, so everything should be allright.

I have had similar problems some times with my testbench M8000 and usually pushing clm back to place helps. BTW That contactspray, does it drye or does it leave "wet" on contacts. Its important that you use spray that dryes out. |
Yes make sure it drys, Caig is the best i have used so far and it keeps the contacts oxidation free longer.

I have seen that there is another Spray from the same producer I have bought, which can be used after cleaning with the Spray I used and which should dry out and any rests of the contact cleaner spray. Maybe I should try this first?

Hi,
I tried the other Spray, I told you about, cause it is very cheap and I would have to order the Caig Spray which would also take days or weeks. And it worked. I cleaned again ALL chips and contacts and the knight rider effect has gone directly! I ordered a new HDM board via ebay, it was also cheap. I hope this will fix the raster problem at least. I will tell you when it arrives. At this point I must thank you very much. I thought I would have damaged the CLB oder the doughter board, but it really was just the bad Spray. I think the guy I bought it from WAS my electronic parts dealer.

Hi,
my new HDM arrived. I replaced the old one. I started the mechanical Setup and I was able to move the red raster while the first step, but the green and blue again didn't move in horizontal direction. I changed the raster size and now the red one does not move any more! What have I done wrong?
