Does anyone know of a power strip type program for a mac? |
Since OS X has a real operating system under it (unlike the POS Windows), you don't need a program. You can see the EDID info in /var/log/system.log or hold down Cmd-V on startup. You can then edit timings as you wish.
If you want a "hand holding" application, the two choices are SwitchResX or DisplayConfigX.

Wow awesome thanks.
I will have to try the mac version. I agree the MAC IS WELL THE MAC!
I just found an old pc and put xp and power strip on it. Looking in power strip it changed the gamma to 2.5 the picture look great! looks to have fixed the problem.
now for the new problem... a razor thin horizontal line in the middle of the screen. If I do a raster shift it moves with the image. So its not "spot" burn on the tube face. Any ideas?
This happens on 4/5 port not just the one with the mod on port 3

Basically, greg's DVI input solution is a chip solutions ouputting directly into a modified port 3 board. I.E. the DAC chip's RGBHV output are routed into the board instead of the board getting them from the DB9 connector. Since there is a link between the chip and the board that is analog, it would be quite easy to put the "guts" of a GammaX in there. YOu could ask greg how much he would charge to do that (if he would do it) when you ask about getting your board fixed. Just tell him you'll send him a GammaX with the board. Just a thought. |
It almost looks like he just took an HD fury apart :-0
When I hooked it up to powerstrip the computer detected it as Eisemann DVI4 so does that mean its a fairly old mod?

Barco calls this the "horizontal line of coincidence". Google that with "barco" and you'll get some links.

He may be now. His first versions where taking a moome apart. He claims to have started getting the Sil chips directly, but I have my doubts.

Who the f*ck knows. Greg is a nice but really f*cking weird guy. His product nomenclature drives me nuts (I work on software products for a living and his versioning is wild).
He actually has 2 DVI products depending on the barco chassis (s or non-s). But, he does not identify them as two products. Instead, they are 2 versions of the same product. So, I think v1 was the "s" and v2 was the non-s. Then each time he revs one of them, the get the next version number. So the "s" cards are something like 1, 3, 6... and the non-s cards are something like 2, 4, 5... (who the hell would do it this way?!?!?!?)
For awhile there a couple of years ago it seemed like he was releasing a new version every 2 months, so I have no idea what he is up to or where the v4 was in the stack.
