I have a Sony 1271 that has started to act up and am looking for some guidance in trying to figure out what exactly is going on. I have had the projector for about 2 years and have put approx. 1000 hours on it since I got it. The machine has approx. 8000 hours on it. The last couple of movies I have watched the blue tube seems to be cutting in and out. Sometimes the tube shuts off completely (this has happened only a couple of times) and other times the brightness just drops. Usually this only lasts for a few seconds at a time.

I am currently feeding it 1080i via PS3->Monoprice 4x1 HDMI Switch ->HDFury1->1270 Switcher -> Projector. All cables are Monoprice - the only cable over 2' long is the vga -> 5bnc from the 1270 to the projector.

I haven't yet had a chance to try other sources to see if it is perhaps a problem with the signal but as this setup has been working fine for a while now I kind of doubt this is the problem. I have an HD-A3 HD-DVD and an upscaling dvd player available to test with.

Any and all suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Next time it does it, put up the crosshatch pattern to see if it is dead on the blue tube as well.
