And remember to ALWAYS pay with a credit card through Paypal. PP dispute resolution is a crap shoot and often sides with the perpetrator and not the victim. This is a case in point.

So The owner of the company, who sold Chris the tube in question, posts here telling everyone they are wrong about the tube and he is correct but to settle the matter agrees to send the tube to Charlie as VDC for an independent evaluation. Further more the owner of Tubular Outlet promises to refund Chris's money should Charlie's evaluation agree with the consensus reached by the CRT experts on this forum ie, the tube was defective from the factory. So far so good?

So now, After Charlie examined the tube and determined that the spot issue was caused by a defective tube... The owner of Tubular Outlet is refusing to give Chris a refund until he receives a "report" from Charlie? Is this correct?

Did Chris, Charlie and the owner of Tubular Outlet agree that an official report from Charlie was a requirement in order for Chris to receive a refund? This seems to be the big question.

Please do not email, call or otherwise contact Tubular on my behalf.

I have never asked anyone to do that, and would like to actively discourage anyone thinking of doing so.

I just got a voicemail from Tubular. Apparently someone did send them something and I really don't need them holding me responsible for what other prople do.

I bet he never got a call but has been reading here and getting more ticked off, and is just telling you so he wont have to waste his time here.
He just wants this thread to die. I think it should too, whats done is done and it sucks it ended the way it did.

And possibly not related but I had a strange feeling....I mentioned those Thomas tubes on here with the 09MEX pinouts, well a few days ago
I was given the heads up that some one from AVS was going to buy up all the new AND used tubes from Aferg. Well after thinking about it
i thought it might be Tubular people, so I went for it and bought the last 13 new Thomas tubes !!!!! I figured I have my blend and will need 6 tubes
for a re tube, The Neck mod works and I will never find new tubes this cheap ever again. Very Happy I know i am sick.
thank god for 0% CC for a year on purchases!!!!

Oh yeah, and as far as this thread.......

It pretty much speaks for itself huh? It's a damn shame that Tubular is not making it right for a Warranty issue isn't it?

Looks like whoever this owner really is just dropped the ball big time and it's a complete shame as a gentleman near me has one of their tubes and it's just fine.

How could Mr. Tubular not just come in here, swallow a bit of pride and just simply apologize? I know I would.........

Amazing........

Hi. Smile

If you have a spare Neck card and housing i bet they'll be fine as long as you can mod the card to the
pin out of the 09mex. I have six used ones too, i have one in an LC housing so I could do a longer test
of it with the modified VNB. But you can test bare tubes as long as you keep the contrast low and don't
run it for too long according to TSE's instructions. These have no static discharge ground wires so some
coper tape and ground wires are needed.

here some pics from the thread about modding the VNB:

And the spec sheets, notice the line width, not sure if its good or not but they look sharp when fired up!!!

I have no plans for them maybe keep 6 for my blend retube down the road. I was going to try to sell the rest to 1292 owners ,but after seeing on Ebay a 1292 tube i dont think they would work with the deflection coil design of the 1292 and the 09MFX03 bell housing. it look as if the 09MFX03 bell housing goes to a flat point as it tapers towards the neck unlike the LUG shape of the Thomas tubes that has a wine glass taper. That sucks since it is the exact same pinout, just different bell housing shape. But they may work with the 1292 defelction coil, some one have to try it.

I was going to maybe offer them in a kit for to Marquee owners looking for a re tube. Have them send me the VNB's for modification and then test the VNB on my test Thomas Tube I have here. Once I am sure the VNB is good to go i ship with the tube's.
