Sounds like you need an HDMI switcher and the HDFury2.

Just buy the old hdfury (cheap) and a hdmi switch. That way you can use both devices without cable unplugging etc.

I agree, for a B800 the old fury is just fine. No pint in putting a $350. moome box on a $400. PJ.

Try both and see what you like. I think it will do 1080i well enough.

1080i.

Honesly, I would not invest too much into this PJ at this point. You could get a used digi PJ with a digital input for about $600 that would look better than the 800. You could also step up to an EM machine for not that much these days.

Although not a popular sentiment you really should think hard and look around. The 800 was a great machine when it went for $1700 compared to the best of the 720p digitals at $12,000. But now, those digis are <$1000. YMMV

true but an HD fury and HDMI switcher will work on any CRT, which is not the same as"investing in a Barco 800". That $600. digital PJ will quickly double or triple in cost once you start replacing bulbs.

Who wants to watch a digital anyway? The switcher and fury will work with a LOT of other stuff too.

Dave's one of "them" now and a $600. DLP is all of a sudden OK. Wink

Hello guys yeah i had a couple Digital projectors Marantz vp-s3 and the sony vpl-12 i think.but i like more the film like image from CRT plus the black level is good and that for an old Barco i want to set up this barco first because i don,t have a lot of knowledge about CRT projectors .so eventely i would make the jump to a EM if they can give me a good price and that means a good price because i don,t want to sell my Kidneys o well maybe for a BARCO REALTY 909 or SONY G90

you don't want to shrink the raster, use as much tube face as possible. Also, don't confuse centering of the raster, which is usually set with and internal test pattern grid, with centering the image inside the raster. They are independant of eadh other. Center raster first then center image. The second adjustment is called Phase control, not sure what Barco calls it though?
