Hmmm. I was pretty concerned about measuring that filament voltage; reaching up over my head into the chassis with a couple of probes makes me nervous.
Actually, I am getting ready to do a set of LVPS repairs/upgrades based on Nashou66's fabulous Maintenance/Upgrade thread. (As soon as I remediate my latest screw up on the VDM).

I've been helping Deewan1.
This is becoming a true Marquee horror story. First look here
http://www.curtpalme.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=140345&highlight=#140345
After correcting the line issues and the PJ working for a while he started this thread.
Now he has replaced the HVPS and the Focus board and HDM all in separate transactions. (This is getting very pricey especially with the flashlights getting so cheap) The PJ powers up now but he has no convergence control anywhere but the center. As he moves to the outside the adjustments will sometime work but the controls are behaving strange. For instance when adjusting blue on the outside quadrants the up arrow on the remote may move the blue to the left. Its as if the buttons are reversed or mixed up. There is nothing wrong with the remote because the everything works fine in the center. I assume the center is controlled by the geometry adjustments and not convergence so..........To us it looks like the convergence board is now done.
Does anyone have any more suggestions?

Have you completely reinitialized the projector? I had some strange control behavior, specifically convergence operating in the opposite direction, when working on my boards at one point.

How exactly do you mean? I did a software reset with the reset button on the back by the fail lights. Other than that I don't know what to do besides reseating the chips again. That always takes it back to factory default.

I will need to look at my sevice manual for more info.

No nothing wrong with connections. I have everything numbered to match. So whatever comes off goes right back to where it was. I'm hoping it's not the convergence board again. I just replaced it a little over a year ago. This is becoming a very expensive month and I'm not even counting Christmas shopping. Sheesh!!

Finally I'm up and running!! I found the ribbon connector to the convergence board was not properly seated. A couple of pins must have been disconnected and that didn't allow me to use the convergence functions. I guess I didn't seat it properly when I was troubleshooting the other problems. Got the setup done tonight and ready to watch movies. Huge thankyou to everyone that contributed in helping me solve these issues. Hope to have a long and trouble free winter with this PJ. HAPPY HOLIDAYS EVERYONE!

I think one of he fist things I suggested when I was over that something was off or reversed. You must have brushed it or something when troubleshooting.
Glad to hear its all good now.

Hey all. Projector was running great till today. But of course nothing good lasts. All tubes are powered up with picture but picture has a red tint to it. All the whites are pink. Proper picture does come back sometimes but returns to the red tint. I did a quick search in the forums for a similar problem but didn't find anything. Anyone have any suggestions?

If the picture has a red tint but all the tubes are working it sounds like you need to calibrate the colors/greyscale, also check to be sure the RGBHV input cable is plugged in in the right order
Best of luck with your other problems

+1
I had intermittent picture on old Marquee 8000 and it turned out to be cracked solder joints on the mini RCA connectors on the bottom of the VIM.

yes
Check your BNCs on the back of the PJ and also your VGA at the source. Give them a wiggle. Your RGBHV cable could be going. Its an easy fix.
If not that then pull the VIM and confirm mini RCAs but my guess is the cable.

Looks like reseating the mini RCA connectors got rid of the problem. We'll see if it comes back. I'll also try checking the cable from the source to the VIM next time. But for now the problems gone. Thanks!

I'd clean the Mini RCA's with DeOxit and then use the protectant( DeOxit gold) to stop later oxidation.
For anyone else reading these Older Marquees may have been sitting around in damp locations for years and build up
oxidation all over. Its best to go through the whole PJ even before firing it up. A clean PJ is a happy PJ !
But glad you got it working correct.
