That feeling you get in your theatre when you tweak out one more little bug that was annoying you about your setup. Y'all know what I mean. Notice I didn't pose it as a question. It's a statement. You crazy sob's who have this thing pretty well wrestled down. You folks collectively are an online encyclopedia of Theatre science and electric video magic and are the reason I get to spend countless hours reading here and elsewhere and building and tearing down and adding and subtracting for just the right tweak. Thanks, and I mean that sincerely. And then there's watching a movie after adjusting it just so. And the, "Man the theater is fun to watch movies in" kinda feeling. You know that feeling. How exactly do you put it to words, right?
I look at some of the projects y'all build in your homes and for customers and I think, whoa, have I ever got a long ways to go to get to that level of understanding on this crazy fun ride that being an owner/builder of a home theater is. Sweet.
Now if I can just get the Popcorn Hour figured out

Yeah,I know exactly what you mean...NOW....
I'd been using an epson tw700 for a year as a temporary pj that kinda became semi permanent.I've always had the crt bug though and recently acquired a runco 1101 (1209s) and to me the difference is night and day. There is no way i would've had the balls to set one up if it wasnt for the guru's on this site and a local legend (you know who you are)
I think i enjoy the tweaking a little too much though,as everytime i get the pic smokin (to my eyes anyway)I get bored and look for something else to tweak.
The downside to all of this is since my pj is waiting for board repairs from curt,I've had to revert to the digital and it looks so bad to me now that Irefuse to watch anything in the ttheatre until the crt is back online.
The journey has been great though!

The phrase you are looking for is "just satisfaction over accomplishment" a.k.a "meritorious accomplishment." A rare (end becoming rarer) thing.

We need a word like Farvegnugen (pure driving pleasure or something like that). But Yes I do Understand, Like when I added the Isolation transformer to my system and got rid of the monster power conditioners, and added the HD144's to my Marquee, ect ,ect, ect. In a way its bitter sweet because one day you will have tweeked all you can and then there is nothing left to look forward to, its the tweeking that makes this hobby as much fun as actually watching movies.
Some times I wonder if I will ever stop....I hope i don't

After watching a movie with some friends the other day (It was his first time in our theatre, she's a regular ) The wife looked at me, smiled and said, "The theatre is never going to be completely finished is it? You will always find something to improve huh." I replied, "yup". She smiled.
That was cool too. WAF

I hear ya,
Last week I pulled the lenses off of my D50 and cleaned the almost non existent dust off the tube faces and back of the lenses.

You mean "Fahrvergnügen" like when you blast smoothly along the Autobahn at about 130mph legally on a sunny sunday morning at 8a.m....
Actually, the only countries without a speed limit on motorways are (besides Germany): Turkmenistan, Afghanistan and Asarbidjan... gives me to think a little !
have a nice weekend!

Never be an Autobahn here. Cliff has the pictures to prove it.
