|
|
|
I'm working on a Runco 943 (aka Barco 708) I assembled from parts, and while in the process of going through guided setup, all the sudden my skew/bow and keystone adjustments went away and further tuning had no affect. I can go all the way from one end of the adjustment range to the other but it has no effect on the projection geometry. It seems these geometry signals come from the convergence driver board, but swapping that one out had no effect. Anyone run across this before? Any suggestions?

Have you tried a new controller or a full reset by deleting all blocks and starting from scratch ?

I tried both reseting the blocks and swapping in a new controller, still the same problem. Any other ideas?

Never owned a 7XX series but if it was working properly and then stopped it could be a loose connector or board or have you ruled this out ?

Yeah, I've looked over the harness looking for any loose wires but haven't been able to find anything and I've reseated all the connectors in the convergence and controller boards. My major problem is I don't understand the flow of the geometry correction circutry so I'm having a hard time figuring out all the parts that come in to play.
BTW, I've also tried replacing the shift & Focus board, no luck there. The I2C Bus test passes, and red and blue convergence controls work, so I don't think the convergence output board is an issue.

I found the +conv and -conv fuses were blown. I don't see how convergence could have still worked, maybe I had a loose connection then later blew the fuses and fixed the loose connection, hell I don't know. But now it works.

I have the exact same issue with my 701s, I had a messed up convergence board and swapped it out with another and the same exact thing is happening to me. I'm pretty sure it has something to do with the boards being different revisions. At some point they modified the board and neither are compatible. Wouldn't it be bazaar if we swapped our boards and both of our projectors functioned properly?

I'm pretty sure both the convergence boards are the same across the 701-Cine7 line, but they are tuned together and you may have a problem with strange edge distortion if you mix them. As for the fuses, if the conv-/+ LEDs are out on the diagnostic board on the front of the PJ, fuse 10 & 11 on the power supply are blown. They are 4 amp pico fuses.
