PC or VIDEO color?

My DVD player (PIONEER DVR-550) have selectable 16-232 VIDEO and 0-255 PC, my scaler (DVDO VP-30) have the same, but if choose the PC must fix the brightens high, because the picture is dark! and loose some details, but the colors is very nice! What to do? what is right? my PJ is SONY G70 with 9000 hours!
