That is the attitude that my wife and I watched it with also. But it sucked so incredibly bad (bad acting, bad story, bad action sequences, bad, bad, bad...) that we could not really be entertained.

As much as I loved the first three Indiana Jones movies, I must agree with you, Dave. This one was really bad, IMO.

I'll watch it through. I was just fast forwarding through parts to check the yellow glow everyone was talking about. From what I saw it looks like a lot of great action sequences. Once I slow it down and listen to the dialogue it might end up being all cheese though.
If you paid good money for it and want to get more out of it... watch it in fast forward. It looks amazing!!!

Between the uncalled-for CG generated gopher opening scene, Shila Buff swinging through a jungle surrounded by painfully obviously CG monkeys, the story, the acting, and the execution of the film I have never been so offended in my life. This film brought shame to the Indiana Jones series. I actually began to feel physically ill while watching it. I only wish I could somehow un-watch it and continue my life remembering only the originals.

I watched it. I reread the thread and for the most part I don't know what you guys are talking about. It was classic Indy. (flame shield on!)
Don't get me wrong, it won't win any awards and it sure hasn't evolved the same way the James Bond franchise has, but it was nostalgic. They went WAY above and beyond extra with some parts like the gophers, the monkeys, swinging on vines, AND I can't believe it wasn't mentioned before!!!... Surviving the Nuclear blast in a lead lined fridge (and being blown half a mile through the air)??!!!... If you were going to walk away, that was the time to do it and you would have saved over an hour and a half. Even with all that nonsense it was good fun all around. The movie got better for me during the debriefing after the blast. I went in expecting and Indiana Jones and that's exactly what I got. Great tongue in cheek lines, tied up some loose ends, good end to the franchise.
I went in excited, but with low expectations based on comments here and there. I was happily surprised. I thought the action sequences were right up there with anything they did in earlier films. You can complain about the CGI, but there aren't many action movies out there without it these days. I find CGI adds AND subtracts from a lot of movies. Think of the the new "Star Wars" trilogy. Almost exclusively CGI and everyone complains about them. The effects try to take over for bad acting/ writing/ etc...
I seriously recommend you watch all 4 movies in rapid succession (2 on Saturday, 2 on Sunday). I would guess you'll find this movie has earned it's place on the shelf with the others.
I'll watch it again and enjoy it.
