1) Hang projector all the way to one side of the room
2) Keep the lights on
3) Mirrored ceiling
4) Put the green tube's f*cking astig magnets in backwards

I'll give you one guess.

...ok, now that you've finished laughing, I can announce that my strange inability to get the astig working on my green has been solved. Go figure! And, within 20 minutes of swapping the magnets around, setting to midposition, and banging out a horribly flawed astig setup per zgman's instructions (actually using an 800x600 dot pattern to do the setup), the f*cking goddamned piece of sh*t projector is now resolving at least double what it was before. One-on-one-off horizontal and vertical lines at 1440x900p72 (I just switched HTPCs and didn't have time to put in 1440x960) are clear and obvious, whereas before they were... well... gray.

And, somehow, the strange corner distortions in the green geometry are gone, leaving a rectangle which is, for lack of a better description, rectilinear in its rectilicious rectangularity. It's rectacular!

All this with 10-minute geometry setup and a 20-minute astig setup which shows obvious flaring, and dots shaped like twinkling star illustrations in a kids' book.

I would be extremely upset with myself if I weren't so f*cking happy at the obviously unleashed PQ potential! Razz

Anyway, just thought you'd all like to know.
