Seriously, I would consider anything that would get me better picture quality. I always thought a CRT would be too big for my room. It's only about 10 FT wide and 13 FT long. It's pretty tight quarters. Any suggestions for a room that small. And aren't they kind of loud (fan)?

So that would convert the RBG signal to a component. Would the Fury2 do both, too? |
Yes the HDFury2 does component as well but there's no adjustable centring in the HDFury2. Although you may not need it. The other advantage of the Box1020 is the gamma boost or BB ( black boost ) as it is called. It really brings out the shadows. However that may be lost on your projector due to the high black level.
A CRT projector is large, some are noisey but doesn't the 6200 have a fan anyways? What size is your screen? CRT projectors don't have zoom lenses. So once you get it in, get the rasters maximized and throw the picture on the wall that becomes your screen size.

I am still curious about the extron, and maybe garyfritz can help me understand. What additional cables would I need. I have an HDFury with a D15 cable out and my projector has D15 in. As I look at the pdf manual, it looks like the break out cable may be all I need.

Yup. The Extron cable has a male D15 and goes to the strange Extron 9-pin jack. It also splits off a short cable to a female D15, which is intended to be used for a monitor. I.e. you could have a monitor sitting next to your DVD player to show what's going out to the projector.
The Extron's outputs are 5 BNC female. You just need a 5BNC -> VGA breakout cable, something like this one for $6.20 from monoprice. That one is 5 BNC males to 1 VGA male. Make sure the BNC & VGA genders are right.

Sync on green is used for VGA. You essentially use 3 wires instead of the 5 that you would used for RGBHV, SOG is RGB. Not to be confused with component. There's also composite sync RGsB, does your BenQ take that as well? That uses 4 of the 5 wires, The extron can combine sync's to produce this signal. Again not sure if it would help you or not.

I guess I'm confused again. My projector says it will take an RGB input. And it seems like the RGB input is the same VGA output as a computer. My PJ is a digital DLP. So, I'm guessing it is sync on green (also, because there is an adjustment for sync on green in the service menu). But the signal output from the Fury is RGBHV. So it looks like the projector is expecting an RGsB but the Fury is sending out a RGBHV. I'm I getting that correct? To me this seems still like a sync problem and I am hopeful (but realistic) that the extron may help me out.

A marquee 8500 or 8110 with upgraded HD-145 lenses will give an 84" wide screen, (120" diagonal) at 9 feet to tip of lenses, 12 feet to back of machine. That's also a sweet spot for a bright punchy image. BTW, the machine measures 32" x 28" x 18" tall. You pretty much have to ceiling mount these things

it depends, some are very loud and others are Pretty quiet. My Maruquee is about equal to a benq 721, but at a lower frequency. It could also be quieter if I did the fan isolation mod to the power supply.
