i was starting to do a mechanical setup and needed to slide the pj/mount back. needless to say there was some "jostling" going on.

everything had been working. i was cycling through the internal test patterns while moving it.

when i was done moving it i tried to cycle through the test patterns but neither the wired or wireless remotes would work: the full white test pattern stayed up.normally it goes into standby, or the screen goes black after a few minutes, not any more.

i took a look at the diagnostic lights and they were (are) cycling from left to right repeatedly and rapidly.

i'm sure i jared something loose while trying to move it. the side and top (bottom since it is hanging) are off, so it wouldn't have helped "hold" things in place.

any idea what might have happened?

i ended up pulling the plug and leaving it for a few minutes. the power button on the remote turned the pj on, but nothing else would respond and the lights were cycling.

thanks for any help you can give.

robb

railroad lights are a control module problem. Your jostling could have caused a small internal arc that shorted the CPU?
Try pulling and de-oxing the contact pins and chips.

Do what dragnm says and also check that the DPB is seated well unscrew it and clean the contacts, when doing my CLM mod I ahve many times forgot to put the DPB on and I did the railroad light thing, Also did the same thing with U7 not seated well on the DPB. Also go and reseat the rest of your boards since you had the cover off and all those were loose.

Remove the two boards attached to the CLM and press down on any removeable chips, do it on a flat surface like a counter top with a towel laid down and the clm on the towel. Also make sure you hang the face plate off the edge of the counter so you dont flex the board, do the same with the Deflection processor board(DPB) U7. dont bend the socket pines that connect tot he CLM.
