It'a an Ampro 3600M. Basically a 4600 model with 8" tubes.
It was used in RPTV units, and stand alone in simulators and rear projection applications.
The lenses are short focus, but can project up to an 96" wide (not diagonal) image if set all the way back.
I have a pair of them.

Looks like it would make a nice coffee table with a tempered glass top

Yes.
It's actually a pretty high performance unit.

The CRT "head" part can be removed from the main chassis and located a short distance away. They were used alot for simulators. There are Ampro/Marquee hybrids and VDC Marquee versions loose in the world.

I had 2 of them. All of the boards are identical to the regular 3600. I had one with the small lenses on it -12 and one with the -24 witch will focus on large screens. I do not remember the first numbers on the lens.

He says this one is set up for 78" wide, not diagonal. Is that the bigger lens? He's also got a Faroudja for sale. Do I want to buy this?

The Faroudja is probably the VP 400. Worth maybe $100 at this point. A nice processor, but not HD compatible. Looking at the ad in a sec..
