I have an IFB-1200 component input card. From what I have found, it should be a 480p component for progressive DVD player. But I can't get it to work correctly. It has two COMP-RGB switches. It has JP1 ON-OFF, but no other info on that jumper. It has pots for picture, hue, subcolor. And it has knobs for sharp and color.

I was hoping to keep my only IFB-12 card for an HD source and use the IFB-1200 for my normal dvd player, but I can't get my IFB-1200 to either sync, resolve a clean picture, or resolve a correct color picture. When I can get it to sync, it either has great tears at the top and bottom, or shows a red picture for my DVD startup picture that is blue. I think I have tried all combinations of the switches. Does anybody have any actual use experience with the IFB-1200? Maybe mine is just busted. I tried it with my old 1270 projector, and could get picture with it switched to RGB, but the left 1/8 of the screen was black and white. The picture was clean and the right color, but had a left vertical bar of B&W picture. With my new G70, I can't even get that good.

thanks
dan

Can you post a picture of the back and top of that card? Maybe someone will recognize it.

I found info about the RGB-Comp switch. In setup manuals for the newer sony projectors, if using a PC-1271 switcher without a SIC/CCQ cable, using a control S and 5 BNC only, it says to switch the IFB-3000 or IFB-1200 to RGB mode since the main input of the projector will be set to RGB. But I have tried both. So if anybody has any experience with these cards, let me know, otherwise I will chalk it up to a bad card from flebay. (still not doing bad from them, only been ripped off once for about $20)
thanks

Just buy an IFB-11 and be done with it.

Did you find any info on this card? I have googled till my eyes bleed, and haven't found a satisfying answer. Will this card accept say a component cable from my cable box @720p or do I need a trans coder?

thanks

Well after more trial and error I found my own answer. It will accept 480i only from my cable box over component cables. But I don't need a trans coder so it is good for all those old video games especially if I figure out how to hook up the old line doubler.

Hi Jester, do you have the IFB-3000 in your switcher?

Ahhh I thought you had the Sony IFB-3000 that goes inside the IFB switcher.

To use the NEC IDC3000 plug your video game into the line doubler then run 5 cables RGBHV to a 5BNC into your projector. You'll need an IFB 10,11, or 12 card in your projector to make the connection.
