Default? ...Can anyone tell me how to do it in plain English..
Thanks....

1031 doesn't have default settings. All kinds of info are available. See below:

ok.. It does say it is set for a 100 inch screen. But how do I know that is set for that? I got the projector free.
It was working good and I had it set up and going about 8 1/2 feet from the screen. But it had a little fuzz on it
and on the right side was a small green bar very small there. So I try'ed to fix it, and it got worse and worse.
If I move it up to about 5 feet from the screen things start to come in again. but there is over laps. Like if I put in a DVD
it will have No Disc. And if will have No Disc in red off to the left a bit also. And the blue does the same...
I don't know how to get this set up right again. Where to start. How far back does it need to be for a 100" screen?
I can use all the help i can get here!
Thanks..
Dan

It needs to be 129" back for a 80" wide picture. (For some reason every refers to screen sizes by the width, not the diagonal.) As I stated on the A site, I set mine at 120" to maximize rasters.

I shouldn't have used "default", the eboyz site instructs you to "neutralize" everything. Set all the analog dials to their midpoint.

The small green bar, was it vertical or horizontal? I had a problem with the blue tube showing a thin horizontal line on the left side of the screen because I was pushing it too hard.

What are you planning to use as video sources for the 1031, just DVD?

Hello,

I am going to set it at 120 like you do. I will set all the analog dials at midpoint.
The small green bar was on the right side and was up and down . Just on one side...
I am just going to use it for DVDS...

You need to start on PAGE 1 of the manual. Jump around or adjust controls at random, and you'll never get it right. Allow about 3 hours to learn the set, spaced over a couple of days. That's the only way to learn how to set the CRT. If you've adjusted controls on boards that aren't specifically labelled as user controls, you're going to have a LOT of issues.

Ok..
I am going to Neutralize everything and then do all the that the installation procedure has down.
I did print out all kinds of stuff... And will go and do one thing at a time. A, B, C, D and all of that.
I had the projector at about 10"feet back. And had a 86" image that was not bad... Just a little fuzz on it. And that was
what I was trying to fix when I got into this mess...
Learn something new everyday. I will get this fixed. Just need a little help. And I really thank you all you all
for the input and help.

The fuzz is probably fungus. Do a search here, or check the 'advanced procedures' section of the main site. Lots of topics here and there showing how to get rid of that.

I am in Moreno Valley Calif. Yes it would be cool if I could find someone to set it up for me. But all I have found is
places that want a Arm and a Leg. Like $60.00 a HR + $35.00 just to say hello...
I will keep working with it. And I will get it going...

Hello All,

Ok I got this thing going again. What fun it is, Spent my 4 Hrs today with it! Ok here we go. I now have a 96" wide screen
picture that looks Ok. The Projector is 120 " from the wall. Now I still have that green line going up and down the right side
of the picture on the very outside. And I have a Red over tone now! Like on the people in the picture have a red over tone around them. Now I need to get the Red Over Tone fixed and I may just be doing great with it.
What I did today was.. Neutralize Everything....Lens Focus Adjustment and Registration Adjustment.
What fun it is....I will look at the Vertical and Horizontal registration of the red, green and blue tomorrow.
I am going by the system installation papers I got online online. Tomorrow is page 15 ..... ....
Be well all.

h it.

The red overtone is because you don't have the three colors converged correctly. Read pages 24-25 of the manual.

Hello,

I have two manuals I see what you are talking about on pages 24-25. It is the same thing I am getting ready to do on pages 14-15 on the manual i am going by. Looks like this may be a quick set up manual? Page 14-15 is talking Vertical and Horizontal registration of
the red green and blue... red, green and blue..

Curt is exactly right. You should see my thread titled "Noob with old tubes," it's a multipage saga of me learning the ropes. Smile
