I've got Pulp Fiction burned to a HDDVD if you want to walk over and borrow it... I also have Reservoir Dogs, Jackie Brown, and Grindhouse in HD if you really want to have a Quentin Tarantino night.

Still waiting on Amazon to ship my movies. That free shipping comes at a cost--last in line at the shipping department.

I looked up the BD set on Amazon to check out the user reviews and it looks like some people are upset with the BD release. It's not the video or audio quality that they are upset about. They are upset that they are paying $40+ for essentially one movie in two parts, the fact that it isn't cut into one movie for the BD release, and the lack of extra scenes from the Japanese cut...
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kill_Bill#Differences_in_Japanese_cut
I tend to agree with those criticisms. I have to wonder if they'll release another BD version with those extra scenes and the House of Blue Leaves scene in full color. So much for that 50GB disc size for advanced features and extra content.

However, I'm going to have to check the DVD and TS versions... I don't recall Vernita Green's (Copperhead's) Pasadena front yard scene being so hyper-saturated.
Silly Caucasian girl likes to play with Samurai swords. |
Am i the only one who sees "sequel setup" flashing thru that scene? |
Kill Bill III... aka "Nikki vs Beatrix"... (Vernita Green's Daughter vs The Bride).
Ties in nicely with O-Ren Ishii seeing her parents killed.
And you wonder if The Bride will also train her daughter... that'd be another good matchup in the sequel. |
From the wiki...
Possible sequel
Tarantino told Entertainment Weekly in April 2004 that he is planning a sequel:
“ Oh yeah, initially I was thinking this would be my "Dollars Trilogy". I was going to do a new one every ten years. But I need at least fifteen years before I do this again.
I've already got the whole mythology: Sofie Fatale will get all of Bill's money. She'll raise Nikki, who'll take on The Bride. Nikki deserves her revenge every bit as much as The Bride deserved hers. I might even shoot a couple of scenes for it now so I can get the actresses while they're this age.
”
According to Bloody-Disgusting.com, details have emerged about Kill Bill Volumes 3 and 4. According to the article, "Bennett Walsh said at the Shanghai International Film Festival the third film involves the revenge of two killers whose arms and eyes were hacked by Uma Thurman in the first stories," which suggest Sofie and Elle, respectively. The article adds that the "fourth installment of the popular kung fu action films concerns a cycle of reprisals and daughters who avenge their mother's deaths".[24]
[edit] Possible prequels
Quentin Tarantino said at the 2006 Comic Con that, after the completion of Grindhouse, he wants to make two anime Kill Bill films. One will be an origin story about Bill and his mentors, and the other will be an origin story starring The Bride. The latter is most likely to be a prequel, but could also follow the rumored (sequel) plot reported in Entertainment Weekly in April 2004

They could do a prequel. I wouldn't mind seeing some character development on O-Ren, and the rest when they were still working through the early years of Deadly Viper Club (if I got that right).

I didn't even pre-order. I purchased mine on Tuesday. I did join the PRIME club on Amazon as it was/is free for the first 30 days.
