I've got my ecp ceiling mounted, and the center focus is spot on. Now the corner focus is a bit blurry on all 4 corners. Can anyone tell me how to achieve balanced focus throughout. My screen is a 96" 4:3 flat screen. Thanx for any help.

Hello
It might need scheimpflug adjustments, if you go "through focus" with the rear lens knobs and you get the bottom, then the middle, then the top, or one side then the other side, it is scheimpflug. If you run the focus control up and down and get corners or center at different points, then it cannot be corrected as ECPs lack zone focus controls and it is time to consider a magnetic-focus system like a Marquee.

I'm pretty sure that it just needs the scheimpflug adjustments done to it. The projector was table mounted, and now i've put it onto the ceiling. It's been a while since i've really messed with it, and have forgotten a lot. How do I do the scheimpflug adjustments on the ecp? Are they the 4 hex bolts on the front of the tubes? Is there a method to adjusting them?
Thanks for the help.

Cornelius,
I have a the pages from the ECP 4100 setup manual that might help but seem to be having trouble uploading them on this forum. Maybe too big? Send me a PM and I will email.

Thanks, I should have checked the manual to begin with. For some reason I thought the focusing instructions weren't in it.
So I have the blue & grenn focused in the center, and the corners. The red is giving me some problems. I can focus it in the center, and the left side is almost focused, but the right side of the screen is not great. The 2 bolts that are supposed to be covered with the red caps, are not. I'm pretty sure the bolts have been moved. Is there anyway I can bring them back to the factory position, so that I can redo the red focus. I have hd144 lenses on the pj, if that makes any difference.

THe best way to start is to take the top metal plate off that holds the tubes/lenses into place. Look at the gap between the tube mounting plate and the lens mounting plate. That should be an even gap all around. Loosen/tighten the bolts so that gap is even all around, and with the lens perfectly parallel to the lens, the corner focus should be decent. The amount of gap isn't crucial, the fact that it's even all around the tube is.
You can then tweak the bolts to fine tune, but without seeing if that gap is even, you could spend hours trying to get good corner focus.

Thanks for the help. I measured the distance between plates, and adjusted. I now have great corner to corner focus.

Ahh can I ask if this Courner Focusing is possible on my Cine 6?
And is that scheimpflug something to get "grid" turn a bit? if you know what I mean?
Like straighten it out a bit... My corner is not soo good right now.. and the focus on Blue tube is not getting good on far right and left side..

Kangas, if I may offer a suggestion?... start a thread with your question if you want best results. Buried in here it won't get as many replies.
