Reposting this since Bens reply started a new page:

So far I have 33 bellows committed(hopefully those who committed wont back out) So i think I will use my own money and go forward once I see his drawings and model . I will then let people know about paypaling me the money for sets of bellows
at $50 each if you get a complete set($ 150 total) if you want only one it will be $ 75 and for two $130. So the best deal will be for all three. I decided to go this way as it will let me make my initial investment back sooner. If at a later time with in say a 3 month period you decide you want to add more bellows to make is a complete set of three i will only charge the remainder to make it $150 total, so say you bought two for $ 130 and then after 45 days you realize you want one more, you will then only have to pay $20 more. This will be the pricing I am finalizing on. In the poll at the beginning of this thread 2 people voted "I wont need three so I will pay more" the pricing i decided on falls into this voting poll question.

I think I might be throwing my hat into the ring. I purchased a red c-element and Curt was going to install it for me. We agreed he would stop if it looked like the bellows might not make it, as I didn't want to send it off the VDC and pay buku bucks. Well it turned out that the bellows had bonded to the c-element, so Curt didn't feel comfortable completing the swap. So now I have a red c-element for a future project, and it'd be nice if I had an extra bellows on hand just in case.

With all the LongBow marquee 8500 Ultra excitement here I forgot to post about the progress of this endeavor.
Dale called me last week and asked if i could drop off the stainless steel metal gasket ring for holding the bellow to the tube face plate. He needed to make sure the screw holes were in the correct place.
So i went to his office and he showed me the cad files and the 3d model of the bellow. Nice work on his part reverse engineering. he then took me for e tour of the plant to show me how they would be made by a three piece press mold
process. Now that i have seen it done to another product they make i understand. they make thousands of parts for almost every industry, they also made the first test O rings for the booster rockets on the space shuttle, and no theirs were not used for the one that exploded, although its Ironic that their prototype actually lasted during more test's than the company Nasa choose to make them, go figure!!
So He said he'd like to send me the model drawings to post here but is afraid I wont commit so i told him to send me a bill of terms and I'll give the first installment. So its Go guys!! I am trying to decide how to do this for ordering or payments. paypal worked great last time for the C-elements. Its just the fee's that piss me off!!! I wish i could take CC #'s to my business account but then it mess up my books for work. So looks like I have to keep the paypal method.
So there would be the paypal fee and this time i will take into account for foreign buyers as there is a higher fee for them.
So lets start getting a list going and I'll post my paypal e-mail and begin collecting and make a list of who has paid and # of bellows ordered. Once the bellows are manufactured i will personally test one on a tube and run it for a few hours to get it warmed up then shut it down and let it sit for a couple weeks before i decide if they are ready for use, i may ask the help of a few reseller here to test them also, id send one first paid shipping then let them report back and begin sending out
the rest. I am not sure how long the whole process will take from collection of funds to manufacturing and final testing.
They would have to schedule the product to be made on the line and they told me if they have lots of work it could be up to 4 weeks.
So lets get this thing going!!!!
Nashou66 at excite . com is the paypal email
EDIT New fee adjustment,
fee is 3.33% and 4.33% for no USA customers, this will keep it close to with a few pennies of what they charge me.
thanks Guys.
For individual i posted earlier how much for those i will go back and update that info here.

I'd guess they weren't the lowest bidder.
Great on the new bellows. Anyone know if these will fit an Ampro?

I think Chip was looking into using Marquee LC housings for the Ampro's but not sure if he followed through
with making the conversion, it be interesting to see it done though.

Wow, Athansios is going to get CRT man of the year award now for sure. Perfect timing too, I have a Vision 1 here needs new bellows badly.

Nasa is a giant lumbering bureaucracy that got a lot of astronauts killed because the people making the decisions had absolutely zero technical or Engineering background. AAMOF it's so bad people have actually written books about it. We can safely add Nasa to the list of Fedral government agency's that have completely failed our country.

I think 3% buyer surcharge is totally fair, it's only $4.50 per person as opposed to the guy who did all the work sucking up $75.

Shiping will be determined after and then a request to your paypal will be made for it.
| jantje112 wrote: | | Count me in for one also. |
for one it will be more as i mentioned earlier in the thread. I think I quoted it 75 dollars for a single, 130 for two and 150 for a full set, and if you later want more or a full set then those would be another 75 to make the full 3 for a set at 150, i think that is fair and you have 90 days to decide if you want to upgrade you order to a full set of three.
Hopefully we can get this scheduled for production soon after they make the Molds !!!
we should have them before Summer I hope!!!

Had to edit the paypal fees adjustment as they changed how it works now, canada is more, it used to be the same as US and now they also add .30 cents no big deal so it be 155 including paypal fees for all USA customers and 157 total for all others outside the USA.
or this way works too for those who dont want three.
Nashou66 at excite . com is the paypal email
EDIT New fee adjustment,
fee is 3.33% and 4.33% for no USA customers, this will keep it close to with a few pennies of what they charge me.
thanks Guys.
those three who already paid dont worry about it. I'll cover the difference.

Nash,
I switched to Google checkout last year. I was doing some work for Coke and they wanted to use a credit card. I am not set up for credit cards, so I was going to use paypal. Fortunately, I found Google Checkout. 2% fees and your money is deposited in your account the next day. Plus, it is automatically deposited in your account, so you don't have to check to see when it is available to transfer like Paypal. Now, when a customer asks if I take credit cards, I can say yes through Google.

I forgot to add that I reread my statement that I was doing work for Coke. Before anyone can make a remark, those days are behind me. I think!
