Hi,

my ECP worked well the last few month.

But now i got this problem:

Picture comes, 3 sec, picture goes away and the tubes sound like i switch of the crt. after 5 sec the picture comes again with the same tube sound as i switch it on.

This repeats all the time.

What problem can this be? All status LED on the back are ok. This problem only start when i start looking a film, without any picture on the input, there is now problem.

any help for my baby?

regards
Chris

THe HV is shutting down. Check for arcing, disconnect the HV lead going to each tube one at a time to see if disconnecting one tube will make the other two work.

LAst time I had this, one CRT socket on the ECP was causing intermittent shutdown. Your HVPS could also be bad, the HV splitter might be arcing internally as well.

Thx for your answer Curt Smile

I will try this.

Hopefully there is no problem with the tubs or powersupply, otherwise i have to take a look for a new crt Sad

i also got a spare ECP 4000, so i can also try to change some parts(CRT sockets).

thx,
Chris

Ok, i did some testing.

The CRT runs for a few minutes, then it shows the error above.

When i wait for approx. 5-10 minutes, then the CRT works well again and as long as i did look at a film.

One Question:
I will try to disconnect one tube after each other directly on the HV splitter to see if this is the problem. If not, can i use the HV splitter from a ECP4000 to test the function or can i damage something?

Thx for the help Smile

regards
Chris

I did the test now.

When i disconnect the blue tube from the HV splitter, i can hear that the CRT makes some noise. It sounds like "Tick" Tick" Tick" and there are also distrortions in the picture when these ticks come. The time between these ticks gets longer and shorter. not always the same time.

I turned of ambient light if i can see something. And than i see that in or at the disconnected blue tube did something flashes, a electronical flash. The red and green did not show this problem.

What can be the problem? Is the tube defect?

Any help would be nice.

Thx
Chris

/Edit: And the picture did also go out some times when blue is disconnected.

/Edit2: Oh, i forgot. If i switch of any source(set lumagen to an input without something connected), the crt also works without shutting down. When i start viewing something, than the problem starts. But the lumagen is not the problem, i tried many sources and nothing changed.
