It took a while for the pj to operate last night, after three successive tries,it turned on up.i figured it was raining and the room the pj was in,was very humid and there was some moisture in the pj causing it to not turn up.
But tonight the pj just wont proceed with a picture. There are no red leds lit, only green leds, all system seems to be go.the boards are different from any of the models, only rgb boards are the same. But i can say it is not going into scan fail.it just seem that the video is muted,The adj. menu wont turn up also.i also can hear the high voltage 5 seconds after start up.i can see the filaments lit up also,
it is still raining hard here and i have turned up the AC to even out the humidity.still it wont turn up.Can someone please help ?

That is the previous name of the Cine9.
In Germany there is a chain of cimena's called Cinemaxx, and they told (forced) barco to stop using that name, and so the name Cine9 came up. At least that is what I was told.

This is probably just the two caps in the power supply that need to be changed due to early aging of the caps, according to barco's service bulletin.

I have had this once with a 909, and a reseat of all the boards did the trick. Reseat the boards with the power cord disconnected, wait five minutes for all caps to drain and then proceed to reseating all boards, including the convergence drawer.

Moisture in the PJ, as in condensation?
That is bad in every way! Please never do that again, as it could easily destroy your projector.
Keep that A/C running 24/7

You have HV problems. Either the splitter, quad or EHT board is bad. I can test those here if you want to send them up. I do have brand new EHT and quadruplers in stock as well.

If you are getting too much condensation you will have lots of HV problems.

Keep in mind that you have a top of the line projector and you're using it under adverse conditions, humidity and CRT projectors simply don't mix. I know you didn't email me back after I sent you pricing on the new boards, you never seem to like my pricing, but in this case the 909 is a set that is as hard to get parts for as the G90... and no one is scrapping any 909s yet, probably for a few years. It was only a fluke that I managed to get some brand new 909 parts when I bought the last batch of 909 projectors.
So if you're expecting someone to sell you the HV parts you need for $50 each, you'll be waiting a long, long time.

The Cine9 should only be repared with appropriate (that is: new) parts. Finding new parts such as Curt has is nearly impossible, so I would certainly take up his offer to check your HV-parts.
If I was running a projector in conditions of excessive moisture, like you do, I would not even consider installing used H/V parts, but only consider new parts, as they last longer.
The Cine9 is a very expensive projector, so be prepared to pay accordingly for repair.

I know what you are saying.i am just worried and hoping this pj would start to normalize after the raining stops.I am worried that it may not be as simple as the hv section.after succesive tries last night ,it did start up with a very blurry image,so i shut it down again, but it never came back on.
I know curt is the man for this, but Shipping cost to Canada is quite crazy, and sending the suspect parts first is the most logical to do. so i am in a dilemma on buying new parts or send parts for check up.
Also,i have been waiting from one of the forum members here for two months now for Nec parts to be shipped, though item has been confirmed ready and paid for. That is why i am a little hesitant.

It will be cheaper on your wallet to run a dehumidifier if your 909 is in a dedicated room. I'm already assuming your air conditioning runs alot due to normal humidity where you live so it might need a little extra localized help. I have a 1200 sq/ft basement, with ~800 sq ft dedicated to the theater and I run a dehumidifier 24/7 (outside the theater but I leave the doors open after using the pj). I get around 2 gals of condensate a day out of it in the summer with the house A/C on or off.
Have you tried running a heater in the room? Close the A/C vents and run a portable ELECTRIC heater for a day with the covers off the pj and the door to the room closed. Try to get it up to around 90 degrees F and keep the pj unplugged. Of course, if the damage is already done (liquid damage shorts or swollen caps) you'll gain nothing by heating the room. It can't hurt to try while you're making up your mind which direction you want to go. You stand to do more damage sitting there for hours on end powering it on and off hoping it will work.
And if, IF, it works, (highly unlikely) get a dehumidifier in the room and keep it there. Just turn it off while watching a movie and back on later.
Good luck. You have a machine many can only dream of owning. (speaking for myself actually)

Some years ago I installed a Sony projector in a room that was an indoor pool. It was a heated pool and the projector hung about 12 feet directly over the pool. 100 inch curved screen was on the far wall. You cant get much more humidity then that and a dehumidifier was out of the question, naturally. So to make this install work, I purchased an electronic spray sealer and sprayed the entire inside of the projector, making sure everything got a coat. The projector ran for years without even a flicker, even being splashed occasionally. Eventually the projector was removed and replaced with something else but was still functional. So if your in a high humidity area, and not many options, you may want to consider this.

Very cool idea Don! What exactly did you spray it with?
