Yikes!
Not even I am that mental. I have a combined room of chairs / HT, I not even think about putting the Projector in my bedroom.
What a lot of chain you have there

G70 back in its spot leveled, square or so to screen. Went to champagne brunch with my son and the wife, left her there came home and we went to work on the HT. Did some painting. Mounted the new Polk fx300i bipoles. It "looks" like they are going to give a better sound field. I moved them in toward the center of the rear wall a couple feet and being bipoe I think will make a difference. What the hell do I know though. Added a DVD storage shelf, cleaned vacuumed and dusted. Put a mess of tools away. Cleaned all optic surfaces on the tubes and lenses and put lenses back on. (with caps this time). Finally cleaned the popcorn machine. I am definitely doing that after every popping session from now on. Oh got rid of a twelve back of Sam Adams Summer Ale with my boy......not to bad of a day.
Tomorrow, re-set up the the focus and convergence from scratch, I am a wee bit slow with that. Faster than my first time but here we go again.

I noticed a partial guitar case in one of the pics. What other toys do you have?
Does that room cover as a jam room also?

Your wife is pretty amazing to let you build a theater in the bedroom.
I think the part that amazes me the most is the idea of bringing 6-8 buddies into your bedroom for a movie!! Most wives might not be too cool with that...

That case is actually a crazy old electric keyboard case I got from a pawn shop. I'll post a pic later of whats in it. I'll give you a hint, it's a shotgun.

Yeah, we're a bit eccentric in that arena. Normally we have a couple or two over, or single women. I don't like other humans enough to have a "group of buddies" come over. She's more the social one so she actually does almost all the invites. Usually dinner and a movie, but more often then not she's been bragging to someone about her bedroom theater and brings them over after work for a late night movie. She was very hesitant about the whole movie theater thing. The first time the old D50 fired up and made movie goodness she was hooked. She didn't even flinch when I found the G70...she was like go get it now! And when I found the super low hours parts machine including minty tubes she was like GET IT!....so I did my husbandly duty and said "yes dear".
And yes I'm a "bad" parent. I let my 17yo son drink a few beers. I didn't even flinch when they poured him champagne at brunch and didn't card him. I have a very unique relationship with my kids. They are very open and honest with me as are their friends. I want to be the parent that all the kids and their friends feel comfortable enough to tell me the truth even about things traditionally way off limits for parents to hear. At least from a kids perspective. I know that even though I was forbade to do something that didn't stop me from doing it. Just made me more sneaky and got me to lie to my parents. Thats NOT the relationship I want with my kids. Seems to be working as good as any plan ever can with kids.

Nice. My wife hates sitting in a dark room doing nothing for 2 hours. She's never been much of a movie fan and can't understand why I'd want an HT instead of just watching the movie on a TV. So naturally any HT expenditure has WAF issues. I've still built myself a pretty darn nice theater on the cheap, but with fewer toys than I'd have if my wife was telling me "GET IT!!"

I had an audible hum in the speakers which was really distracting and when the mini fridge kicked in you could hear it pop in the speakers which I'm sure is NOT good. So I started looking at isolated transformers and that seemed the route to go. I bought this
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=110254237835
Anyone ever have any experience with this? I called the APC business support sight asking the dB level of this unit in operation and the tech on the phone had to defer to the engineering dept. They came back with around 5dB. Does that sound like BS?
Do y'all think this will eliminate the hum factor?
Great. Now I've got to add a branch circuit to the upstairs theater. I was actually going to do that any way. Adding all the new amps creates a draw of about 22A. The remainder of the equipment draw is around 10A MAX. All the other electrical draws are on normal household circuits. The RT SURT003 is 220 30A each phase so it will be more than enough. I am going to feel really stupid if the ground loop hum doesn't go away.

So I'm all happy installing my new side Polk FX50's and my rear Polk LSiFX's. Get out the SPL meter startup the system go to calibrate. No sound from the rear, sick feeling in stomach....Go through the check every wire and every variable to see what gives...speakers good, wires all good, Lexicon good amp, l side good right side no sound DAMNIT Adcom GFA 545II!!!, So I grab mile Niles Si 250 put it into the mix and Something's not quite right with him (oh yeah, that's why I don't use him) Then I grab the old Accusonic MB800 monos I have lying around and holy crap am I glad no body bought them when I was trying to sell them because they kick some serious ass at 4 ohms. So now all's well again...I just have to put everything away all nice and neat again. I need to get the new camera figured out (that's a really funny story I almost feel bad about it) and grab some new photos. I was looking at the last ones I uploaded and so much has happened since then.
The isolation transformer and its own 220 30A service from the main panel to the cinema, new rack, new amps, speakers, a little paint here a little cleanup there. The transformer really did make a difference...I know, I know, the Monster crap needs to go, but I use the 12v triggers to turn on my amps, so until I get another windfall to buy something else, they have to stay.

First of all, I can't imagine finding a wife like yours. That's seriously impressive. As a young, single-guy still, I'll have to consider revising the old standards sheet for women after seeing this.
About the kids thing, I hear you. It's odd because my parents were really strict/overprotective for years and then loosened up a lot in my later teens and I now have a similar relationship with them. They may not like everything I do too much, but they know I'm not hiding anything either. I'm all about teaching my kids one day to respect drinking and all. I'd rather them learn young that there's a healthy, responsible way to enjoy the beverages. I'd rather them also be honest with me. I think that's really important and if more parents were a little more realistic and met kids in the middle, kids would probably be a lot more balanced as people especially through college.
The big debate for me is what's the appropriate age to get the kids their first home brewing kit. No better way to learn respect for beer than to make it yourself!

Due to extreme paranoia of a sony board failure, I asked Santa to bring me a whole extra G70 for christmas. I just got to unwrap it tonight. I think I have actually lost my mind One fully functional G70 on the ceiling Almost 3 complete extra sets of every G70 internal part and a complete set of tubes and housings (all tucked neatly under the bed in case of emergency). For 650 on the gon. Guy was selling it whole but I talked him into parting it out to me. Moome card and all (no gamma circuit).
Anybody need a moome card, pj-1000 remote or a G70 ceiling mount?
