need help with a ampro 3600 that shutdown and has an error code of hvps failure.

The usual problem is bad solder joints in the HVPS. You have to remove and disassemble it and resolder anything that looks bad or dull.

Umm, just for my 2c. Umm in your title, I recall them saying something similar about a little boat in the White Star line... so you might want to rename your post Wink


God does have mercy on the weak and those in trouble. Having owned several ampros, trust me I know. When they are good they can be very good. When they are bad, they can be very very bad.

Ido not know why eveyone dumps on ampro, my fancy $$$$$$$$ RUNCO DTV 1200 $$$$$$$ lasted a little over a year
then went crazy ,my sony 1292 never gave me any problems ,i owned three brand new 1292 projectors and sold
them to pay for one uber projector DUMB DUMB DUMB. right now i`am using my ampro 4000 i bought this projector off
ebay for use in my den over two years ago not one problem in all that time
my next projector will either be a new 1292 or a new 4600hd no moded ehomes no g90s no barco 909`s i have seen them all
and owned most of them and with a good setup the pictures from all em lc projector look about the same
i want a projector that works when i turn it on and keeps on working for a long long time Thumbs Up

Takes a licken and keeps on ticken. Of course, admittedly, you have to get into the X600 series to make that claim.
Please note that My 4600HD has logged more trouble free hours then any other crt I've owned, including Electrohome and NEC.

yep i`am one of three lucky guys that own a working ampro 4000 were going
to do lunch with the five other guys that own working problem free sony g90`s Mr. Green
we may even let the two guys that own working sxrd projectors join us but only if
they pay for the drinks
