Hi
Well I must say I am over the moon with my purchase of the G90 from a member 'oliverg' some months ago. (300hrs)
Did all the mods Green C element and fan mod.
Also replaced the Red C element as it had a blemish on it for some reason, and also replaced the glycol on the blue crt as well.
So then I calibrated it with the Spyder 2, and It just didn't look right.
Anyway I purchased the Eye One LT and tonight I calibrated it again, well the difference is remarkable it looks amazing now.
I guess my Spyder 2 was one of the ones that is way out of cal.
These are the figures I ended up with
Eye One LT
Contrast 60 Brightness 35
Gain Bias
R=199 R=162
G=230 G=172
B=126 B=161
Before with Spyder 2
Gain Bias
R=71 R=163
G=220 G=180
B=124 B=166
I have a digital camera and will take some shots when I learn how to use it, not having much luck as yet.
Any way this is the best projector I have ever owned.
I started with a Sony LCD 16:9 ratio some 10 years ago then bought a D50 new sold that and got a second hand G70 from the US which I thought was the best I'd seen but now this G90 its just a different level.
Regards
Richard

Hi Gino
I live in Melbourne down Frankston way.
I doubt if my system would line up with yours, mines only 92" inches wide with a 1.3 gain screen.
Its in my lounge room 18' X 16' but it does look great, AFL (Foot Ball) from 10HD is excellent.
At the moment I am playing my library of Blu ray and HDDVD movies again, you see so much more detail with a calibrated machine.
Have you made any more progress with your system, that glycol incidence would have really pissed you off.
I am an Electronic Tech and work with damaged PCB's every day, Automotive ECU damaged by electrolytic capacitors leaking their acid all over the boards.
I see you bought a 60" plasma to fill in while you get your system back together, I have a 50" Nec for TV use and find it quite good for the purpose, but at the weekends I like to fire up the real home theater and watch a movie or two.
Hope you get your system up soon.
Regards
Richard

I do find my way down to Melbourne a few times a year.
Glycol problem was a major PITA, around 3 hours to completely disassemble the projector, and another 3 hours to put it back together. Then it leaked again and took out more boards!
That's all behind me now, I had the blend up for a couple of hours before finding a problem neckboard when I pushed the tubes harder. Won't be long now.

Richard, was this the G90 with some issues? YA board or something..
If so, how hard were they to sort out?

Its those frankenyokes! they allow you to push the contrast higher and putting strain on the VNB.s and Possibly the
VIM's , keep it low Gino !! Calm Down !!!

This was contrast of 71. I could push them up beyond 80 with minimal blooming. One of the Ultra's is fine running this hard, the other is fine for two of the neckboards, but one of them keeps giving out, have to put the projector down to Contrast 50 or the beam limiter not to kick in. So this isn't a matter of pushing it too hard, this is the first neckboard I've had that couldn't be run beyond Contrast 50 full field.

No this was the G90 without the YA issue, I don't know what what happened to the other G90 that Oliver sold.
