Hi out there
I come from lands far far away, (New Zealand) and i am seeking some technical advice,
I have two crt projects, a Sony VPH-1020 (and and a second one with good electrics and no tube for spares)
I also have a Sony VPH-1001 (and a complete spare projector)
however, I have a few questions for you guys out there;

1) I would just love to be able to play halo 3 on either one of them, however, I live in the world of 50hz power (@230V) and halo is a 60hz game, and no amount of gerry rigging has been able to get any sort of good result out of either of them for it, the 1020 shows the video, but it is purple and green, the 1001 shows the video, but it flickers like nothing on earth, and it in black and white.

2) My 1001 has just died. when you hit the power button, it turns on, the fan start, it then attempts to start something in the projector, fails and turns of again, any suggestions on where to start looking for the fault?

3) My 1020 and a burn in the middle of the red tube (where some moron forgot to plug the yokes in before turning it on after a crt change judging by the damage done) is there somewhere I can get a new red tube for it? (without having to give up my first born?)

Thanks in advance for your help

Cheers

A 1020 should do the 480i60 signal just fine. I tested it more then one time when I had a 10xx series.

I don't think the problems you're having are being caused by the 50hz power 230 power unless the 10xx machines you have are setup to run on 110v.

Do you have any other sources to try, my guess is your problem is within the projectors unless it works fine with other sources.

Good Luck,

Erik

With my VPH1000QM it will accept some PAL 60Hz signals and display them fine, others it thinks it is getting NTSC and it displays with all the colours wrong.
