I'm looking for anyone who might have a PS3 connected to a NEC ISS switcher and is using the HDMI connector for video.
I don't care if you use a Moome internal HDMI input card or a Fury or whatever.
For some reason, I don't get clean switching of the PS3's video reguardless of who's device I use. I gave my Fury/box 1020 combo to Heywood Jablome to try with his Toshiba HD-DVD player. He connected it to his ISS via the standard ISS VGA input card and had no problem getting 1080P output from his ISS. I thought I was suffering a Fury 1080P lssue as 1080I from my Fios HD DVR worked and switched just fine.
My thoughts are that the Sony PS3 for some reason doesn't like the ISS and shuts down the video. If I switch the ISS away from and back again to the PS3, it will send video. If I shut the system off and later on again, I get no video till I switch away and back again. Very frustrating

Just for reference sake, the connection I'm using (successfully) is:
Tosh A30 -> HDMI/DVI -> HD Fury -> ISS VGA Input card -> 50' Canare RGBS -> 9 PG Xtra
(Obviously the 9PG Xtra won't resolve 1080p particularly well, but it synced right up with "UNREGISTERED SIGNAL" as expected.)
In my case as well as Chips, the Fury has the external power supply plugged in. I did'nt need to use the Box1020.
In Chips case, he tried at least two line driver add-ons: the boost on the ISS output card as well as the Box1020 and then on to the ISS and his PJ.
I believe all is well if he bypasses the ISS and runs HDMI/DVI to the Fury with the shorty breakout cable to his test PJ.

I go PS3 -> Monoprice HDMI switcher -> HDfuryGE -> Kimcoder -> ISS ->Projector
Works fine at 1080p...even though I can't do 1080p.

I'm starting to wonder if that custom input board I built for the ISS back a few months ago that didn't work was the problem. I'm starting to think that if I had tried switching away and back again with that card if it would have worked just as the Moome card does. Now where did I put that little jewel.

This is normal. It happens on digitals too. I've been dealing with this from day one of owning my PS3. It's an extremely minor convenience for me though.
Quick switch of rez and pop, it's back in. No big deal for me at all.
This is absolutely the ONLY problem I have had with HDMI in well over a year.

It may be normal but it's not acceptable. We all have priorities. For you, it's all about the image you get in your theater. For me, it's the whole experiance. Sure I like a great image and I do get that with the 4600HD. My priorities are in the functionality and simplicity of the whole system. I have the equal of your projection system tied up in my automation system. How do you automate a device that is so hit or miss? Prior to HDMI, my system was bullit proof and so easy to use that my autistic son could go into my theater, turn the system on and navigate through various touch screen menus to watch what he wants. To prove it I even invited the dumb blonde next door to try it with no coaching and she had no problem with it. Then along came HDMI and f**ked up everything. I have to be able to push one button and have it work 1st time and every time.

OK, this is driving me frigging mental. This seems to be a HDCP issue although I don't know how as the handshake is done before the ISS. This morning I discovered that if a SD disk is in the PS3 when you switch the ISS to PS3, it switches over perfectly. If a BD disk is in the drive when the switch is made it does not. How the hell can the PS3 see anything past the Moome or HD Fury and shut down the video? I have not tried it yet but I assume this means that if the drive is empty when I attempt to access the PS3, it will hook up.
