Before I attempt to contact moome directly, I thought I'd check to see if this has been covered or discovered before. The pictures will best describe the problem that I'm having. I don't know how to put it into words.

I've narrowed the problem down to the moome HDMI card in my Sony G90. This is the internal card, from the second batch of Sony HDMI cards. This card has the adjustable Gamma boost.

The pictures are both from my BluRay player. The first is the distorted image from the HDMI card. The second is connected to an older moome DVI card in the same projector. Click on the thumbnails for a larger picture.

I suspect that this may be a problem with the Gamma boost circuit, but that's just a shot in the dark. I tried adjusting the Gamma all the way up and down its adjustable range which had no effect on the problem I'm seeing.

So has anyone else had this problem before? Is it safe to remove the Gamma boost circuit board and try using the card that way? Moome, can you help me out here?

Thanks in advance.

Sorry if this seems like a dumb question, but did you do a complete setup when you reinstalled the card, the gamma adjustable one? From my recent reading of Kal's grey scale guide It seems if we don't go through and revisit all our settings and recalibrate our machines to a proper grey scale with the correct gamma adjusted with a colorimeter we are not doing it correctly. At least that was my interpretation and why I bought the eye one and am in my second reading of Kal's awesome guide to get myself geared up to calibrate the grey scale. That may be where your issue lies. Good luck

That's not a dumb question. What I forgot to mention is that I've been using this HDMI card for several months already. This problem just appeared out of the blue. No adjustments were made to the projector, moome card, or sources to introduce the problem. That's why I think that there is a problem with the HDMI card.

Thanks for your input.

That weird almost "mossy" effect in the first picture is definitely not normal. I don't see how you could change any settings in the PJ to make that go away. I'd contact Moome. My guess is that something's up with the card.
