Make sure that PJ has the same neutral as your video source. Doug says that is why they go through system boards, a slight difference in neutral voltage of the source and the PJ.

rtart,
I haven't priced bulbs in Atlanta, but I can't believe they are over $1k. Xenon bulbs are the only ones that get pricey and those are for the big boys. Anyway, good luck with the 10.

Thanks for the advice. I run my PJ and all the video sources and my VP30 through a Belkin power center, so they share the same neutral. I have the PJ configured to start up on voltage sensing so no IR remote issues are involved. The sources are on the UPS buss, so power outages don't cause issues.

Hey! Do I rain on your rationalization schemes?

Just finished up grayscale calibration of the "new" 10PG using an eye-one. I'm fairly close on the values, but not perfect. Gamma corrections on my VP30 were very helpful. I just keep looking at this thing and saying, "Damn, that's looks good!" with a silly grin on my face. I never calibrated my 9PGXtra, although I now realize I should have.
The eye-one and the two hours it took to use it are without a doubt the best $150 I've spent in this hobby.

I have talked to several people who say that calibration brought the single biggest improvement in their image. I may have to borrow that eye-one of yours.

I agree. I'm no expert, and could not get at close as I might have liked, but with gamma boost through my VP30 I was able to make an enormous improvement. Now I'm calibrating my PC screen and the plasmas around the house. Best $150 I ever spent.
