Hello,

As the title say I have some problems with the screen size when I try to run from my HDTVbox on my Marquee. The case is that the only 3/4 of the screen width is used. The width of my screen is 2.75 meters but when I use the HDTV box I only think that 2.35 meters is covered by image and the side is only black vertical columns. I have no such problem when I run HD DVD or DVD form my Mumitsu both at 1080i 60HZ. Here everything works florless. I can see in the on screen menu on the Marquee that the bandwith on both HD dvd an Momitsu tells that it run 34 KHZ and 60HZ and on the HDTV box it is 28 KHZ and 50HZ, so I believe that the problem is due to the output on the HDTV box.
I dont know if any of you have some experience in this area but I have two Marquee Ultras (8500 and 9500LC with Moome gamma HDMI inputcard in both) and they respons the same way, so I dont know if a expensive scaler is the only way to solve the problem.

Thank you Very Happy

Henrik

Need more info, do you have a seperate memory for the HDTVbox? you just might need to use the H size control or if you do have a separate memory you might have the sides blanked out.

Thank you Athanasios

I try to use the phosphor as good as possible with centered image and the H size is set to 100 or 99. Also it is the same Marquee setup on the hdtv box and the DVD players. The phase is also a problem when using the box as the picture is projected to much to the left side. I have had the same experience when I tryed to play a standard DVD on the HD DVD here the picture size and phase was doing the same error. Hope this can help in diagnostic the problem.

Many have had same problem with euro hdtv box and crt projector. I think signal timings are wrong for crt in those boxes or something. Those boxes are designed for digitals...

Scaler should help, since you can chance porches with it and then you can also chance refresh rate to 75Hz if 50Hz flicker too much.

Hello

On your Marquee remote, push *** and look at the blanking values; zero out left/right blanking and see what that does.

Im not blanking my setup- but thanks. Okay....so a scaler could be the solution. Does anyone knows if there is a difference in the picture quality in DVDO 20VP or DVDO 50VP? I might buy a scaler but I have no idea which one?

That is a very well known issue, caused by too high porch values used in HD @ 50Hz.
Solution is HTPC or scaler.
