GT prologue is the most gorgeous game I have ever seen . I have built a stand to hold my Logitech G-25 wheel and pedals so I can chill in my theater chair and drive . It is a lot more comfortable than my 4 runner.

Sure! Just don't want to be in it when you do.
Nice Wheel setup. Who made the stand?

ADRIANKELLY, that's AWESOME! That's EXACTLY what I was going to build for myself - I just haven't gotten around to it. Frickin' cool! I have a design to work from, now. Expect a PM or two about it - if you don't mind!
Mike, you got a C5 or a C6? My dad's 60 now and keeps talking about how his next Corvette will probably be his last. I keep trying to convince him that if he's only buying one more and he's going to keep it, then he might as well just get a new ZR1 and be done with it. So far, he's not going for it. Might have something to with the price tag.
I got a tentative "OK" from the wife on coming to Chicago... so, Cliff - can I come to the party, please? I'll bring booze.

Just a 01 C5 it has a few little tricks: after market cold air, hurst short throw shifter & borla CatBacks.
C6's are nice just a little to rich for my blood, 5 more payments and its mine.
The really fun one is the 65 Coupe I've had since I was 19, now 51. Once the Z is paid off that will free up some cash to start the restore of the Coupe.

Thanks, Cliff! I'll of course let you know if anything would change, but I'm planning on being there!
"Just" an '01. Stop being modest. My dad's '03 C5 had an intake, exhausts, tires and wheels. I drove a couple of speed events in it, and that thing was a rocket - but it was no Z06! The great thing about the C6 was that it made the C5's a lot more affordable - which are still a hell of a car!
1965? Oh man, I LOVE the mid-year. My two dream old car keepers are a Buick GNX and a '67 427/435. Milestones in American muscle. What color is yours?
OK, sorry - I'll stop with the car talk.

The 65 is a NOM small block, it will be a nice driver when I get it done... I bought repro knock off for it back around 81 that really set it off. GNX are cool, seems like most of those were yellow with black stripes. 67BB Corvettes are $$$$$$$.
The Z is red the 65 is Glen Green, since its non original motor I might paint red. IMO the only color a Corvette should be.
When I start working on it I probably create an off topic thread.

I know the 67 big blocks are big bucks - that's why it's a dream car!!! Oh, and I was talking about the '87 GNX - you probably thought I meant GSX. I meant this bad boy:
They were "only" just under $40k (still lots of coin in '87), but now typically go for over $80k in nice shape - which is why it's on my dream list, and not on my "gonna get" list. They're not that big of a deal anymore compared to even base Corvettes, but in 1987, it was one tire-smoking bad-ass mofo. Fastest production quarter-mile car in 1987. Chevrolet wasn't too happy about it, either.
RED Z06 - excellent. I like all the Z06 colors. Red, black, yellow... can't go wrong.
Speaking of off-topic threads, oops - I said I'd quit talking about cars. Sorry for crapping in your thread, Cliffy! I'll quit, now.

Yep, I did have the letters wrong. I wasn't even thinking GNX duh wrong decade. Worked with a guy that had a 89 Turbo T/A with the GNX engine, it was BAD. Your right GNX was the rebirth of the Muscle car with a high tech twist. I would never be able to afford a mid-year at today's prices, I paid $2300 for mine it back in 77.
I'm done too Cliff, sorry!

Back to the topic - the parties... Are most of you who are coming bringing wives/girlfriends, or will this group be a little too obnoxious for everybody but Cliffy's wife (she's obviously acclimated to the obnoxiousness)?

Cliff won't mind the off-topic... especially if it has to do with fast cars, hotties, or guns...

Pete and I had a friend in our dorm that bought one of those in '86 or '87. IIRC, his dad died and left him some money.
Anyways, that was one bada$$ car... it had a digital speedometer... I remember breaking the speed limit in reverse
I also remember that he would hold his foot on the brake and press the accelerator... the car would stay in place but burn rubber at the same time.

SC | There's always a good gathering of wives... they usually stay upstairs and enjoy the food and wine. And I suspect they sympathize with each other and laugh at us husbands for being such ridiculous HT geeks. But they visit the basement for a few minutes... most of them love the picture but can't handle the sound too long.

I might as well continue the OT conversation!
My dad has both a GNX and a GSX (Stage 1 but with air). Both are in beautiful condition. Of course he won't let me drive either.
But I did get to drive the 87 turbo regal to school. Fastest car in the parking lot.
