Hello All,
After having read some of the comments on this board, I'm certain that someone can help me with my new HTPC problem. By the way, I just joined this forum, so please forgive any protocol missteps.
For years I have fed various S-Video sources through a DVDO line doubler into my Panasonic PT-M1085 and have had no problems - loved the picture. The DVDO used a standard VGA out (the only option) which connected directly to the VGA port on the projector.
Last week, the DVDO died and I wasn't going back to 480 so I ordered parts and built an NVidia based HTPC. The video board is GeForce 7150/nForce630i and has full capability for custom resolutions. My connection to the projector is straight VGA with nothing else between the HTPC and projector.
Now the problem: I can setup a number of pictures, requiring full convergence etc. but after a few minutes the picture will start to flicker occasionally. Then after about 30 minutes to an hour the flicker will get so bad I can't watch at all and eventually I'll get the "no signal detected" message and I'm done. I'm not sure if this behavior is due to my cabling, but I assumed that VGA carried the sync signals properly since the DVDO line doubler had no problems. Or, is it due to timing and/or resolution?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

The graphics card could be overheating. But that would usually show artifacts like snow or block in different color or black things jumping around etc.

Thanks for your reply David. I had thought too about something overheating, otherwise why would the image be stable at first? However, I don't think it's the graphics card since it's a brand new machine and the graphics card is actually built into the motherboard.
Perhaps I'll try to run a fan directly into the projector and see if keeping it cooler might help.
Are there any other ideas?
