I am being offered 2 Barco 801 CRT's and am not sure about picking these up. My media room is 11 x 18 with an 8 foot ceiling and my max screen size can be up to 100" diag. Ambient light is completely controlled. I currently have an NEC MT1040 and am suffering with screen door effect from the far end of my room.

What I need to know is what is the largest image that I can project with this model of CRT with the throw across the 18'? This will be ceiling mounted and may possibly try the blend if I can figure that out at a later date.

Thanks,
Tel

The throw distance is fixed at 1.4 X the width of the screen, so at 18' to the lenses you'll get 12.8' width. That's far too big for that screeen. I'd go no more than 92" wide.

The manuals are in the tips section of the main site if you need them.

Is that width diagonal or just wide?

Width I assume, most CRT guys use width of the screen unless you are trying to brag it up then use diagonal. Mr. Green
