I have noticed a squiggly pulsing , lets call it noise, going up vertical in my image. Mostly noticeable in vertical lines.
Almost like a power supply noise. something like this ~~~~but going vertical up lines like the grid pattern from a test DVD and pulsing on and off. its not present on internal grid.
Could it be a ground loop problem?
I'm running 1080p48.

Is it a "hum bar" that rolls up the image in one "bar" or is it all over the image?

Its on vertical lines, remeber seeing this before over On AVS and did a search for squiggly lines and could not find it , so i looked through all my posts Shocked

Man I have a lot ! And I found a post by TEOnaki:Marquee 9500LC - "strange waves" - need help.

It was bad solder joints on his clm. The Video links he gave are gone now but I remember how they looked.

I need to go check everything on the Solder joints for the DPB and SWB boards.

Hopefully this is it, Probably from pulling it out and removing the DPB from the main board doing my mods
i maye have weakend the Joints. So this will be added to my Maintenance thread.

Well I think I got it, pressed down on all chips U35 and U16 were very loose and actually "snapped" a bit as i pressed down
Thought i might have cracked the board!!! But it was just the chips being seated. Put Board back in and squigglies and
pulsing are gone for the most part, think I need to pull all chips clean with DeOxit, then some denatured alcohol for final
rinse. that should do it !

Hi,

I think I encountered that squiggly pulsing internal grid lines on my XG135 before but it is less serious. The video links are right there so I reconigzed what it looks like.

Where to look for those Ic to clean and reseat them in XG135? Thanks.

Thanks Mark. I shall check the boards tonight. I know where to find the deflection board and Osc board but where is the C-drive? I had once pulled out all the boards in the card cage and cleaned the contact with a rubber. Any suggestion on contact cleaner?

The squiggly grid lines is not happened all the times and it is not as serious as shown in the video links. After a while, it gone and will happen again later. Confused

I remember this issue is only affected the internal grid lines. The grid lines pattern of an external sources or picture will not be affected. Confused

Sorry, I don't find the C-drive in the NECXG layout page. Would you point it out?

Oh, my poor english. I used a pencil eraser to clean the contact. Is it no good? Any suggestion on those cleaner?

I have used Electrosolve contact cleaner with a bristle brush, air to dry off, then treat with Stabilant 22. Stabilant enhances electrical contact and is not a cleaner. I would highly recommend using it on your entire PJ except for the high voltage contacts. It is often used on critical aviation components and medical equipment.

Squiggly is back , It went away for a bit after pushing down on chips, So it came back and I decided to reflow all the solder joits on the DPB conectors male and female. went away for about 15 minutes now its back again, pulsing about every 3-4 seconds for a second then stops 3-4 seconds and starts for a second. Its late now but I will have to clean all chip contacts and try it again, maybe reflow all connector pins too.

Well I cleaned the board all the chips with denatured alcohol and its still there. 7 seconds no squiggly, then 3 seconds of squiggly. repeates over and over. any other Ideas?
