MP, If service is required could you give me a estimate ballpark at what I'm looking at if I can't manage it myself? |
I usually have so many different things going with not enough time to do them, that I stay away from doing repairs as much as possible. And that's why i send everyone Curt's way. I mainly want to stay focused on my work and help out when I can.
If you get to a place you want it repaired, contact Curt.
If you want to roll your sleeves up to try and fix it yourself - keep the thread active with what you find as you go along.
I'm sure between tbx and myself, you should get pretty good tech support here..

No. This was the original HDFury with their standard 5BNC adapter. Separate HV sync.

OK I tested this weekend. I have 4 units total. I pulled the boards out and only put in 1 input and 1 output at a time. The switchers did not pass a VGA signal thru from a known and tested source (laptop) to a princeton graphics 27" multiscan monitor for testing. Running straight from laptop to monitor it works fine. I could not get good readings on AC with multimeter with a white field. One thing I found interesting but maybe it is not a problem is that when I select one input and use the multimeter on continuity test no matter what input I have selected it will have continuity on the output. For example input 3 is selected and I put meter on H on input board 1 and their is continuity on H on the output board? maybe their is not physical relays like on other video switchers?
I also have Comm cards and tested using them set to RS-232 control. Same effect.
Just for clarification as this is driving me crazy. The switcher will function without being connected to a BARCO projector if you use the front panel or RS-232 with Comm card, right?
I would like to mention, I did have it working when I first got it for a few hours before it started to loose sync and came and went in 5 second intervals.
So not to bother you Curt, MP. Is it possible that all 5 of my output cards have issues or am I just missing something obvious? All cables I use are of very high quality and tested + I have many spares.
thanks,
Nate

On that switcher, Yes it's very possible!
The output cards are far more likely to fail than the input cards. The output cards you have may have already been swapped out of a switcher, and may be defective.
If you're ever in this area at the same time that I'm around, i could check it for you to determine what boards are bad, or if it's a board that's the problem.
