I tore apart my 8500 a few years back and tried to label all of the bolts and screws for each portion of the disassembly. I finally have my HT room ready to mount the projector now and started to reinstall all of the body panels and I now have two extra screws left over for each side panel. I have included the picture of them, but they are about 1" long and a philips head. Any idea on what i missed?

I have never had a Marquee apart, but those look like common aftermarket sheet metal screws to me. Are you sure they came out of the projector and didnt just get mixed into the parts?

I can't be 100% sure but I had two screws in separate zip lock bags with only the parts i used for each section of the projector. Its just odd if i had the four of the laying around during the tear down, I tried to be anal about what went with each part. These are the only four left over?

I dont remember having any screws that long taking apart my marquees. Wait the screws holing the Belly fans to the fan housing are about that long.

I never pulled out the tubes and didn't mess with the belly fans only had Tim replace the fans in the power supply.

I'd say something got mixed up. I've pulled every possible screw out of my marquee and don't recall ever seeing one of those screws let alone 4!

If you've replaced the side RF/Xray shields and no screws left, and replaced the plastic sides, with no screws left, and the power supplies with no screws left, I haven't a clue. And the only time I've seen screws like that used are when someone strips out the OEM's and has to use substitutes. They're much too long for anything anyway. It'll stay up on the ceiling without them. Wink

What Gino said.

It's possible though that they had offspring while in the bag for that long..Wink

It's also a service tech's rule that if you don't have screws left over, you didn't put it together correctly..Wink

Don't be saying that, I have so many screws, plates and rods in my body due to a motor cycle accident that it might be the source. I have a nice 24" titanium rod from my femur that makes a nice stir stick! My user name should be the million dollar man due to the surgery costs! Shocked

I got my Marquee in pieces and all the screws etc came in a plastic tub.
I am pretty sure I have at least one screw just like those ones.
So if you figure out where it goes please let me know.

They are for the halves of the plastic tube covers, two for each tube cover.

Haha, you're right Tim! Forgot about those, I never actually remove them, I just loosen them and keep them in the plastic covers.
