Shame it is missing an 0. This is one of the later lineair RGB projectors, not the cool one from the 70s the 1000 and 1000A.

Also the old Thomson (Thales) simulator has/had an triangular CRT arrangement. A company in the US offered LUG conversions for these to increse brightness, focus, convergence, and operational life compared to the original fixed CRT array. So, the ES is not the only other triangular projector. Let's not forget the original 3 CRT beamers from RCA. 1949 schmidt optik, crts run at 80kva, so they only lasted hours, requiring a near-production quantity run on those tubes.

VDC in Shreveport, a.k.a. "Novatron", acquired the Kloss Novabeam CRT plant when Kloss shut down, and trucked the whole thing from Cambridge Mass. to
Shreveport; and I would not be surprised if they can still refurb the tubes.

.

Is that Shreveport, Louisiana? That's only four hours drive for me.

I still have mine from 1985 and it still works! The picture quality has dimmed some but I can watch it at night and the output still looks good. I don't know what I'll do when one of the tubes goes ...

+1. Even a low end 7" ES machine that people are giving away for free will be a huge step forward in performance.

It might be good for parts but that is probably where it ends. I wouldn't give a nickle for it but for someone that needs a board or a tube or two that are trying to keep theirs going....yeah....why not?!

Where are you located?

As has been mentioned, you could upgrade to a great CRT for next to nothing.

I may have to sell both of them. After doing the calculations, I am having a hard time trying to find a way to make the G90 work in my room.

I have one that has been parked in a closet for 20 years. I wish I could find someone who is interested in it. I don't do electronics of this kind any more. -Ed

Post your location Ed and you never know who may be interested! You may want to also start a new thread in our BUY/SELL forum indicating you have one to give away.
