Lost picture on my Marquee 8500 the other day. There is a ticking sound and I can see light from sparks coming from the vent of HV box when I fire it up. I took out the HV box and can not see any signs of the sparks. There is a light powder on the back side of the board. I have no idea if the powder is an indication of anything or not. Any thoughts are greatly appreciated.

That's not repairable, you need a new HVPS. I am out of stock and looking for more, but I just sold my last two spares in the last month or so.

VDC wants $2200 for a new one I think, going rate for a used one is $350-600 depending on what version you are looking for. (the Ultras go for the most as they are the latest version).
Put a post in the for sale section here, that's about your best bet.
